3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Pours totally cloudy peach amber, kind of like unfiltered peach juice. Minimal head and little lacing. I will note that I had the first pour of the keg. It looked like later pours had more head and more clarity, but this is what I was served, so this is what I am rating. Aroma is fruity, bitter acidic, barnyard funk. Flavor is lightly sweet, medium tart and light funk. Full bodied and creamy.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On Tap. S: Rather weak, a lemon tartness, wheat, with oak and a hint or rasberries. P: Golden with a slight haze, no head to speak off. T: Lemon and oak are upfront, just a hint of rasberries, wit, and lime. M: sting carbonation and mild sourness. O: Not bad but expected more, the rasberries are not really there.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
15 July 2013, tap at the Bruery. (2011 version- 2 years old) yellow, clear, no bubbles. Nose is sour cherries and musty basement. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Has some malt characteristics like a wit beer with nine of the yeast profile or sweetness. Not a brett sour per say but close to it (or muted). Kind of tastes old to be honest.
(2013 version- brand new). Closer to gold, faintly hazy, no bubbles. Nose is more wit yeast and sweeter than the aged version. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Stronger hefe malt background than the aged version but still overshadowed by the sour. It's also got more of the wit sweetness. Sourness is new and unrefined.
I don't know if I like the wit/Berliner Weiss combo. Certainly the young version is the worst of two worlds. The aged version is better but that's because it's more of a Berliner Weiss and hardly a wit.

750 ml bottle shared. Pours a cloudy golden color with a large fluffy white head. The aroma is tart citrus and berries, wood, acidity, some sweetness with a mild vinous character. The flavor has much of the same; crazy drinkable, tart raspberry and citrus, wood, yeast, acidic; I need more.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Acquired in a trade almost a year ago. Enjoyed at 60F in a Cantillon Tulip with my GF...fully expecting a vinegar bomb.
A - Slightly hazy burnt lemon appearance. 3 finger fluffy head that fades and crackles like soda-pop. Not a gusher but a lot of carbonation in this bottle.
S - sigh..slight band-aid nose, heavy raspberry puree and lactic acid
T - Wow. Vinuous and tart! Really special. I get a ton of oaky characters, grape tannins and saison body. Lovely raspberry taste at the middle and finish with a hint of cabernet characters. Pretty special.
M - big carbonation in the glass and on the swish. Medium body, thick for a sour fruit beer
O - This is not my favorite bruery beer but it’s pretty far up there. Really something special.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 Bottle. Cloudy yellow pour with a big white head. Enticing raspberry, vinous, and woody aromas. Crisp and clean with delicious sour raspberries, decadent red wine, oak, white nectarine, and sour melon notes. Fantastic mouthfeel with good body and perfect carbonation. With 26 months or so in the bottle, this ale is is simply fantastic....
