Imperial Witbier, 8% ABV, sour mashed 1-2 days, and fermented with a blend of Berliner Weisse culture and Belgian Witbier yeast. The beer is barrel fermented in large red wine barrels (132 gal. barrels). Raspberries are added to the beer towards the end of fermentation directly to the barrel, and aged on the raspberries for a minimum of 1 month. The Berliner culture contains souring bacteria and the raspberries will add acidity to the beer. Brewed to commemorate Bottleworks 12th Anniversary.
Originally brewed in 2011. Rebrewed in 2013.

Orangeish straw colored pour with a short lived white head. Tart, hay, and funk in the aroma with soft clove and raspberry. The flavor comes in layers. Tart, acidic and funky upfront. Then the wit layer rolls in with a nice, smooth and soft clove and banana and gentle spice. The raspberries kick in at the end with a fresh, tart note.

Tick rare ticks! 750ml bottle from Bottleworks. Clear bright golden color with lively bubbles and a fizzing white head. The aroma is great, vinous, lactic, bretty, wheat, raspberries, light fruits. Flavor is biting and tart, fruity, vinous, complex. The palate is incredibly lively, prickly carbonation, medium body. A great beer, made better by the rarity of course. Amazing to drink but even better to record this on my RB ticks list, which is obviously the be all, end all of life.

Sample shared @ RBWG Tampa. Thanks to whoever brought this! Gold pour with a small white head. Nice bright nose. Lemon curd. Moderately funky. A bit of cobweb attic. Flavor has some light citrus, grape jellies. Soft acetic bite. Zippy and vibrant. Surprisingly drinkable for a Bruery sour. Medium body, strong carb. Great. Never thought Iíd be handing out a big score to a Bruery sour, but credit where itís due...

Bottle from torinbro. Thanks. Pours a hazy light pink. Smells not that great. Medium high boost. Tart dusty berries. Some oak maybe. Not as tame as it once was, I reckon. Meh.

750ml bottle of 2013 release pours a pale brown color with a lot of effervescence. Sour apple and a little overly sweet. Not getting any raspberry

At Bruery Sucre Tasting in the Bierboom. Complicated sour fruit ale with medium thick, egg-white, unstable and quickly thinning head; hazy golden colour with peachy hue. Aroma of gooseberry more than actual raspberry though a hint of white raspberry is certainly there, yoghurt, pineapple, sour cream, honey, dry white wine, subtle vanilla tannins, some stale sweat but fitting in very well. Very vividly fruity onset, lots of pineapple and gooseberry esters mixed with actual white raspberry, quite spritzy carbo at first, smooth body with honeyish, lightly bready malt sweetness and soft sourish íwheatinessí, lactic tartness accompanying the whole and drying, sour cream hints, very fruity, drying lactic finish with a hint of warming alcohol and practically no hops. Sour ale of very high level, but I hadnít expected anything less from this brewery.

tepid orange, no head. Tangerine and orange nose, balancing acid, lightly paper. Front palate is metallic acid, jowls tingling. So much acid here I canít tell if there are any flaws.. WHAT?! Tangerine is dominant through the finish.

750ml bottle pours a murky gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has berries, mild spice, passion fruit, some jam, some kiwi too, a little Rose wine. Flavor has hibiscus, Rose wine, berry, malt, grass, straw, a little coriander. Dry and tart on the finish.

750ml bottle brought to the main December Ratebeer gathering. Poured a cloudy golden color with a white head. Aroma was tart apples, raspberries, some peach. Flavor was light stonefruits, light red wine barrel notes. Effervescent.

Pretty nice stuff. Citrus and some apricot. Some guava as well. One of the better Bruery beers Iíve had due to focus on balance here, above all. Hazy orange pour. Tangy finish. Bottle at tasting.
