COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Witbier, 8% ABV, sour mashed 1-2 days, and fermented with a blend of Berliner Weisse culture and Belgian Witbier yeast. The beer is barrel fermented in large red wine barrels (132 gal. barrels). Raspberries are added to the beer towards the end of fermentation directly to the barrel, and aged on the raspberries for a minimum of 1 month. The Berliner culture contains souring bacteria and the raspberries will add acidity to the beer. Brewed to commemorate Bottleworks 12th Anniversary.
Originally brewed in 2011. Rebrewed in 2013.

750ml bottle. Bottom of the bottle pour - a hazed, murky peach/apricot with a thin ring of white film atop. Aroma has lightly tart raspberry skin, creamy wheat, a hint of wild yeast, peach skin (?), sulphur and the smallest hint of oak. Flavor follows suit. Lightly tart, a touch of acetobacter, raspberry skin, very light oak tannIn, a touch of wheat, tart brett and some odd seasalt note. Creamy texture. Moderate to low carbonation with a short, but fairly gripping (acid wise) finish. Kind of a mess. Thanks fellas!

"What a cool idea this was. Yet another different-than-the-rest sour from the Bruery. Adequately tart, but in the berliner vein, not really WILD. Raspberry is at first under the funk in the aroma and flavor. They immediately follow in the aftertaste, pitting sweet vs. tart, and then the berries (and spices that were barely noticed before) come out more as the beer warms. Really dug this take on, well, whayever it is you’d call this."

750 ml bottle shared with the Quebec City crew. Pours a murky orange with a short lived white head. Aroma is citrus, soap, lavender and wood. Flavor is a lemon assault on the tongue, tartness and vinegar. Finish is lemon, other citrus, tartness. Lingering...you guessed it, lemon! Medium body, average carbonation.

Pours a pale yellowish orange. It’s quite cloudy. White head of fine foam, fairly small in size. Little lacing. Dissipates after a minute. Aroma has some really nice raspberry flavor combined with oak and vinous flavors. Jammy berry, tart and flavorful. Moderate funk. Nice stuff. Taste has a good deal of oaky bitterness, moderate sourness, mild raspberry. Doesn’t quite live up to the aroma. Some vanilla. Light feel, very mild pucker. Nice sour.

Bottle from Homer! Thanks! A: Cloudy orange - yellow with a thin white head. N: Raspberry, pear, green apple, oak, vanilla, grapefruit juice. Wine grape. T: Sweet tart. Rounded sourness, not completely lacto like Cascade. M: Prickly. Light body. O: Pretty dang tasty. Sure glad they remade this one. I’d take some more.

750 ml bottle from RS. Pale yellow color with flat carbonation. Aroma is light wheat, raspberry and light spice.

Flavor has a lactic acid note upfront with a Wit beer base. Light musty basement and tart raspberry with a spritzy carbonation. Big oak notes with a extremely dry texture. This get progressively more sour as you drink. Raspberry sweet tarts and Smartie sugar candy. Huge pucker after the sip. I like it.

750 mL bottle. Thanks Tim! The pour is a foggy gold with a hint if copper and a nice white head that fades down to a thin film and thick ring. The aroma is quite sour with a beautiful fruitiness and raspberry presence. Not a whole lot of yeast or anything with it so it seems promising. The flavor is just as sour and fruity. There isn't as much sourness as I was expecting based on the smell, but it's definitely really good. The mouth feel is solid with a good carbonation and an aftertaste that's incredible. Just lingeringly sour and fruity and delicious ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Kurtkeller 012: Bruery-tastic 01 on 05/16/2014. Hazy orange-yellow color with a thick and fluffy white head that dissipates gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of berries, citrus and spice. Medium-bodied with flavors of tart citrus, berries, grainy malt and oak. The finish is mildly sour with a raspberry and earthy yeast aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
