A: The pour is a rich amber color with a fingerís worth of off-white head. S: The nose is primarily overly toasted malts with a hint of caramel, spice, alcohol, and nuts? Sort of weird, and not all that much yeast character. T: The flavor is very intense, but not necessarily in a good way. Lots of toasted, nearly burned, malt and a very bitter flavor. A very earthy character and slightly bready and spiced. M: The body is medium with a pretty light carbonation which does not do the beer any favors. D: Neither iteration of this beer has been all that good. I enjoy the desire to be innovative, but it hasnít worked out this time.

Appearance: Pours a vibrant dark red with a sexy creamy beige cap.

Aroma: Spicy yeast, toasty malt.

Taste: Spicy yeast, fruit notes, finishes spicy and bready.

Mouthfeel: Creamy and full bodied.

Overall: Really good. Easy on the eyes as well.

On tap at the Bruery. Pours a copper red color with a small tan head. Tastes of caramel, wood, figs and bread. Brett is subtle. I want to try this with 8 months of aging under itís belt.

On tap at the Bruery. Pours with a hazy red body and a small tan head. Looks like Oude tart. Aroma of banana, chocolate, hazelnut, soil and light phenolics. Taste is pretty much the same. Earth, chocolate, caramel, banana esters and grainy. Medium bubbles. Dry. Not much brett going on.

Had on tap at the Bruery. Their new "red" ale fermented with 100% Brett. Pours dark red/brown with very slight tan head which dissipates quickly. Carbonation is slight, small bubbles. Aroma is faint, mostly malt with slightest hint of hops. Brett doesnít really come through in nose. Taste is chalky, metallic, astringent. Tastes like a Killianís Irish Red but a bit more metallic. Definitely not a fan of this new one. Luckily Trade Winds is still on tap.
