Pours black with a small tan head. Nose is guava for sure, some chocolate, little soil and leather with some vinegar. Taste is sweet up fronts with lots of pucker power on the end. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, medium body with a long finish.

dark color. Distinct guava fruit nose. The dark malt plays off the tart notes nicely. The guava is present from start to finish.

Draft at the bruery tasting room with Linh. Pours a deep brown, practically black with thin brown lacing. Aroma is funky fruit and light vinegar. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of light fruit, apple, light wine, oak and a weird funk.

Bruery Carmen w/ guava. Sampled at the barrel party.... Pours a dark cola looking like hue and consistency and topped with a thin wispy light beige head... Somewhat juicy guava fruit to pair alongside anise black licorice. A touch muddled overall. Cola as well.. A stouty type of sour with a dark fruit bent moreso than actual guava. Some backing anise notes also present. Medium bodied with a lighter carbonation level. Muddled and clean. 7/3/7/3/13

On tap @ The Bruery. Deep reddish brown with a tiny off white head. Aroma of vinegar, red wine barrels, dark fruit and some chocolate. Flavor is tart and sour with some acidic vinegar and some chocolate mixed in. Medium body with lively carbonation and a dry, tart mouth feel. Nice sour red/brown, don’t really get any guava but still a nice beer.

A not-so-sour, on tap at the Bruery tasting room. A sour aroma, the fruit sweetening the mix. Some chocolate and some cherry. Brown coloured body. Decent drinkability and middling mouthfeel.

Tasted at the Bruery. Dark in color and in your glass. Tart fruit flavors and undertones of guava. Tart and slight sour qualities. Pretty quick finish. Refreshing and ok.

On tap. Pours with a deep brown body and a small tan head. Aromas of guava, acetic acid, red wine, berries, tropical fruit and light brown sugar. The guava helps round the aromas a bit more than previous fruits. Flavors of tropical fruit, dry, acetic, chocolate, raisins, and dark fruit. Pretty dry with a lasting acetic bite, medium bodied with medium carbonation. I enjoyed this a bit more than the other versions of Carmen.

The pour is a dark reddish-amber color with a finger of off-white head. Strong guava aromas to this one. A decent amount of vinegar, though not as bad as some other Carmen variants. A bit of cherry skin and wood. Somewhat musty with a bit of guava flavor, wood, and dark fruit. Still a bit of vinegar to it. Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
