Batch 1. Smells like vanilla caramel cake frosting. Chocolatey? Yes. Boozy? Absolutely. Vanilla bomb on the palate. Seriously, frosting galore. Clearly superior to batch 2 (2012), this stuff is glorious.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Batch 1, thanks to Dave S. Super dark brown pour with a small offwhite head. Huge bakers chocolate, cocoa nib, and brownie batter, giving way to luscious vanilla bourbon and fudge. Significantly better than batch 2 of itís constituent base beer. Full body with low carbonation and a boozy finish. I like it.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle of Batch 1 thanks to Dave ! Pours a thick viscous deep burnt umber color with a trace head of mocha foam. On the nose its pretty tight with a warm boozy bakers chocolate and touches of vanilla peeking out of a deep dark blanket. On the palate this beer opens beautifully with rich chocolate cake like sweetness on the front that slowly rolls int a complex mixture of cocoa, vanilla and rund coconut like richness that is really the shining moment for this bottle.... from there it gets a touch hot as the beer flows down the hatch but there is enough lingering goodness to balance out the warm booze and make it a very pleasant beer from start to finish.

Opaque black - brown beer. Small dark tan head. Nice chocolate nose! Crispy palate, semi dry. Rich chocolate! A mixture of dark chocolate but with a good dose of mild chocolate. Brandy like alcohol underneath provides mild warmth and dryness. Left some aside for a week and the alcohol really calmed down leaving a lovely chocolate that tastes like a fine bar of Green and Blacks!

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer is very light colored from what I was expecting; the head is nicely brown / dark-tan and the beer itself has legs like a strong, sweet Port. The nose smells of alcohol, and then more alcohol. After trying to get past that for a bit I start to get notes of chocolate, and coffee liquor. A weird melon note seems noticeable at times (is that a Bourbon influence?); and there does seem to be a signature of spicy oak in the aroma.
The beer is viscous and sweet, though the latter is not nearly as much as it could be. Lots of chocolate flavors, leaning towards sweet milk chocolate almost, are accentuated by flavors of vanilla. The finish is hot with alcohol, spicy Bourbon notes, and a lingering oak bite, all of which contribute to a certain astringency here. Interestingly enough, pairing this with a cherry Baklava really thins the beer out significantly and even makes it taste tart somehow. This recovers after a few sips though and quickly punches the palate into submission with its sweet alcohol. This is definitely a belly warming, hot, and spicy beer in the end; the predominant flavors are chocolate and alcohol with some supporting vanilla and Bourbon notes. Lots of vanillin notes and other Bourbon like flavors are found in this beer once you start digging around. About what I expected, but I really have a hard time with beers that are much above 10% abv, and this one is definitely pushing it, but is enjoyable in small amounts.

Bottle shared by drabmuh. Thanks Matt! Long time want for me.
The beer is dark brown with a thin, beige head. The aroma brings roast, booze, chocolate, vanilla. Smells great. The flavor takes it up a notch. A huge dose of vanilla, followed by chocolate, oak, and light roast with a warming alcoholic finish. Just superb. A beer to savor. Highly recommended.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at CCB Black Friday. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted sweet chocolate and alcohol aroma. Heavy sweet sweet chocolate malt flavor with a heavy sweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark brown, with a small, light brown head. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate. Flavor is bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, alcohol, raisins, malt, and caramel. Medium to heavy body. Nowhere near as thick as I expected. Iíve been waiting to try this for a couple of years, and honestly, itís disappointing. Thatís hard to say when Iím rating it a 4.2, but I actually like Black Tuesday better.
