3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Stout 3 & Freestyle Tasting, thanks to Bruce. It pours dark brown with a minimal off-white head. The nose is pretty sweet....rich chocolate, caramel, fudge, coconut, vanilla, oak and brown sugar. The taste is chocolate gateaux, intense sweetness, roasted malt, sweet coffee, earth, wood, vanilla and alcohol warmth. Full body, light carbonation and thick, oily mouth-feel. Not a whole depth of flavour, just god damn sweet. Glad to try it, but I just don’t find it very drinkable.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at the Stouts Pt. III & Others Tasting - London. Thanks to Bruce for slaying this whale. Pours dark, red-brown with barely any head, just a bit of beige cream. Lots of chocolate syrup in the nose, plenty of toasted sugars, heavy bread, so,e cake, light vanilla. Hugely sweet flavor, lots of sugary dark chocolate, plenty of boozy sting, maple syrup, chocolate cake. Supremely full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Hot finish, plenty more heavy sugars, rich chocolate cake, mild vanilla, cocoa powder, moderate earthy bitterness. It is damn, damn heavy stuff, but in its way it is quite enjoyable. Enjoy it the way you would a dessert wine.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Pours like oil with an abruptly fading head that lingers in swirls. Amazingly rich chocolate and vanilla aromas with huge complexity, there’s so much to pick up in this. Amazing mouthfeel with chocolate, vanilla, coffee, dates, raisins, and wood. Perfect.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours very dark brown with almost no head. Taste is of vanilla, paint thinner, old garage rag, wood, intense alcohol. Very complex. Taste is of vanilla, intense warming alcohol, port, sweetness. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Overall: Pretty good, but a bit too heavy for me. How many are we suppose to be to drink this responsibly? Hard to rate, especially as part of a tasting.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The strongest beer I’ve ever had. It delivers with the chocolate and warmth. A great wintertime sipper.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pour very dark/almost black, with so very little white head. Aroma is so very complex with all sort of stuff: chocolate, licorice, portwine, cocao nibs, vanilla, coffee, slight rum-soaked dark fruits. So very Nice and complex. I truly like this shit. The taste is really swee upfront, with some faint bitter notes at the end. But surely is a sweet monster of ar beer. Full n’ oily bodied, with a very little amount of carbonation. Thanks to the mashmaster for sending me this. Truly is a tasty mofo!!!
Some slight heat in the throat, but nothing like 19 % abv. This is even more adult candy than the "black tuesday"

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thanks to tom10101 for this one! Bottle shared with tom10101, czar, Minderbinder, David and myself. This is so intense that we hardly finished the bottle even split 5-way. Hot hot hot alcohol notes in the aroma at first but revealing nice vanilla notes later on. Booze is not hidden at all but I guess that is to be expected. This really is more like a boozy sweet liquor, a chocolate liquor. I did enjoy it but it is just too extreme to be something I’d want to drink regularly as a digestive.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (750 ml). Traded by jp7161, thanks! Black with reddish reflect and almost no head. Aroma is of nail polish at first, but given some time it dissipates. Intense vanilla notes, wood, bourbon/rhum and chocolate. Really complex but I’m not sure if i’m able to enjoy. Taste is heavily sweet with a lot of vanilla, bourbon, wood, chocolate and, of course, alcohol. Body is surprinsgly not too heavy. Sirupy. Warming/burning alcohol. Boozy. This beer is the antithesis of drinkability, but it’s expected at 19,5% abv. We’ve splitted it 5-ways and we had too much of it... a 10-ways splits would have been more reasonable. Don’t get me wrong, this beer is really complex and it’s not all bad... it’s even a "good" sipper, but that’s too harsh for me.
