UPDATED: MAR 30, 2012 Almost as dark as Black Tuesday bud there are some red hues that peak through the glass on the edges. Smells like a vanilla BOMB. Brownie batter and fudge syrup, this is killer, bourbon, chocolate, malt and vanilla. This shit is divinity in a cup.

On tap at Bruery RS Party. Similar to Black Tuesday review which makes sense. I really did not get as much vanilla as I hoped for but the chocolate was there. Not as sweet as BT. Phenomenal beer on its own no doubt but I enjoyed BT a tad more. Could use some age. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a rim of dark brown head. The aroma has notes of vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt, wood, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, vanilla, roasted malt, cocoa, and wood, leading to a dry, alcoholic, vanilla finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of JohnC. Pours an opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Sweet oaky nose with quite some booze shining through. Surprisingly only medium-bodied, sweet roast, pecan, loads of oak, dark dried fruit, chocolate - no surprise - and sweet vanilla. Roaring alcohol finish. However I expected this to be thicker and cloying, but it ain’t - still I couldn’t drink an awful lot of it. But delicious alright. Very sophisticated. 220312

Bottle with friends. Dark brown appearance with a tiny, tan head. Light anise, dark chocolate, sweet vanilla bean, somewhat roasty aroma. Rich dark chocolate, toasty cake-like, sweet vanilla, rich toffee, caramel flavor with a warming, boozy finish. Quite strong and boozy but it does taste quite nice.

750 ml bottle - thanks again to Chris for bringing this treat to Bill’s big stout tasting. Poured a deep, dark brown with a very thin tan head. Nose is cocoa, caramel, vanilla bean and sweet chocolates. Taste is super sweet, almost desert-like with cocoa nibs, dark cherries and barrel flavors throughout. Rich and decadent body with nice lacing and a sweet finish. Tasty stuff.
