Pours like oil with an abruptly fading head that lingers in swirls. Amazingly rich chocolate and vanilla aromas with huge complexity, there’s so much to pick up in this. Amazing mouthfeel with chocolate, vanilla, coffee, dates, raisins, and wood. Perfect.

This was a huge beer! Pours cola with light head and no lacing. Nose is super sweet, like a jersey milk bar. Flavours of molasses, milk chocolate and booze. Tastes were big huge sweet and light bitterness. Mouth was quite creamy with low carbonation. Thanks Matt!

Bottle - Vintage 2013 - Bittersweet boozy chocolate and candy sugars. Jet black/brown with a decent light brown head. Sweeeeeeeeet chocolate and some more boozy sweetness. Crazy.

750 ml bottle shared at Steve’s. Deep brown, mocha rim. Intense chocolate, molasses, some booze, a little barrel character, very sweet. Intensely sweet and boozy, lots of chocolate; sweet with tubs of booze and a sweet chocolate finish.

Bottle shared at RichTheVillan’s, 27/11/13. Huge boozy bourbon nose, chocolate, roast, vanilla too. Extremely sweet, sticky milk chocolate, more bourbon, roasty flavours, coffee, toffee and vanilla behind, but this beer is dominated by boozy bourbon and sweet chocolate. Thick, slick, sticky. Gotta say I found this hard work. Maybe 5 years on it would smooth it out, or maybe it’s just too strong?

Bottle. Thick black color with solid tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and dried fruits. Taste is thick, sweet and lots of chocolate. Not much vanilla.

On draft at FoBAB2014. Pours a dark blackish color with a small tan head that dissipates into a ring around the glass. Aroma of chocolate and bourbon. Flavor is extremely sweet, hot, with some chocolate notes and sugar. Flavor is all sugar, chocolate, booze. Unappetizing. Bracingly sweet. Gross. Slick bodied. My 2 ounce sample was too much.

WOW!!!!!! This is amazing. The aroma is huge chocolate a and vanilla with the slightest hint of bourbon. The taste is exactly the same. One of the best stouts I've ever had. Top notch. This is great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a slightly murky brown with a thin tan head. Bourbon and wood on the nose, soft caramel and chocolate. Warm chocolate, alcohol, slightly isopropyl, warm caramel. Really tasty and incredibly smooth. Lingering bourbon, caramel, toffee chocolate. Surprisingly good.

Sample @ home, thanks tiong!
Aroma has dark chocolate, alcohol and some hayish tones. Also some rubber typical to Mikkeller Black. Flavour has alcohol, salty licorice, sweet cocoa tones, semi-dark chocolate and rubber. Heavy stuff, alcohol balances the sweetness but comes through too much. Nice slow sipper still. I wonder how long would it take to finish that bottle by oneself...
