3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by Kyle at my wedding, thanks! Pours an oily black with a thin dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has strong sweet dark grains, raisins, sweet chocolate and vanilla with a hint of roast. Flavor is cloying with sweet dark grains and sweet chocolate with underlying raisins and vanilla. A bit overwhelming.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(750ml bottle thanks to BMan1113VR) very dark espresso brown pour with soapy tan edge bubbles. Really nice legs on this beer! Nose of vanilla malt balls, bourbon, cocoa, sweet! One of the only beers Iíve ever rated a 10 on the nose. Taste of vanilla extract, alcohol, sweet chocolate, malt balls, cream, and alcohol. More malt balls in the finish, with a vanilla linger. Delicious! Not quite as good as the original though in Black Tuesday, but comes close.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours deep oily black with white head. Aroma is like vanilla extract, with slight notes of chocolate, alcohol, and slight wood. Taste is boozy vanilla, some chocolate, lots of alcoholic boozy sweet, not a good finish with harsh booze. Wow, did not expect this, but really not well done, boozy mess.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
750 ml bottle from Reserve Society membership. 2012 vintage. Pours a jet-black color with a tiny tan head that fades. Held up to light, still not letting anything through. Hell yes. Aroma of vanilla, cocoa, fudge, brown sugar, molasses, dates, marshmallow- smooth, rich bourbon warms the nostrils. Very sweet overall aroma. Same for the flavor, but it shows some of the charred oak from the barrel, too, and never lets up on the bourbony goodness. Vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, cocoa, sweet dried fruits, coconut- really nice. Full-bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, rich, warming and boozy mouthfeel. Warms all the way down. Coats the palate, too. I really donít think this is as sweet as the last batch of Black Tuesday, actually, which makes it kick just slightly more ass.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Big thanks to bman1113vr for sharing this bottle. Not sure I was going to get to try this beer. Rating No. 2000 here on RateBeer.
The beer pours a dark brown to black color with no real head. There are a few dark brown bubbles. A very nice looking stout.
The aroma is awesome. I get a lot of chocolate, bourbon and oak notes, as well as vanilla and maple from the barrel aging. The mix of bourbon and chocolate in the aroma works perfectly. The beer smells about like I expected it to and it is very nice.
The flavor is more of the same and is also great. I get a lot of boozy chocolate as well as a lot of bourbon, oak, vanilla and maple. Even though the beer is pretty boozy, it is still very easy to drink. The barrel aging has done great things to the base stout, imparting several different flavors that all meld very well together.
Low carbonation and thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Very glad I got to try this one and hope I get to try it again.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla bean, vanilla, roasted malts, coffee, charred wood, and alcohol. Taste of dark chocolate, vanilla beans, wood, bourbon, char, and strong alcohol all the way through.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at Richardís Graduation Party (Western Springs, IL). Thanks, guys! Batches 2 and 3 drank side-by-side. Pours a deep blackish pour, darker near opaque middle, good but not solid haze. Some brownish glow on edges and bottom shows some light, gentle copper. A frothy tannish head dies down to a ring, laces small. Aromas are rich cocoa, darker sweet malts, oak and gentle spirit. Sweet toffee, toast, vanilla. A richer sweet and thick experience, the nibs in this beer tend to kill out some of that dark fruit sweetness. Initial is rich cocoa presence compared to the base, lots of bakers cocoa, some good roasty nibs, gentle oak. Bigger nib presence, the middle shows coffee, caramel and toffee. Thicker and sweet, the nib presence distracts a bit from that. But overall, this is a pretty nice beer. The cocoa nibs detract from that sweet tang that regular Black Tuesday offers. Pretty nice beer. Better than Black Tuesday for me.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Portion of a bottle consumed at the Rosso release. Bottle wrapped hobo style. Served in a SAVOR snifter.
Pours near black with the thinnest of tan heads. Some light legs on the sides of the snifter, especially after a few swirls. Completely opaque. The nose is quite pungent, but nothing that jumps out too much. My first impression is that I like Black Tuesday more. Thereís a pretty strong chocolate presence intermingled with a light dosing of bourbon plus some mild roast. Booze is fairly prevalent, but doesnít stand out too much. Thereís a mild coffee presence, but that is more of an undertone to sweet creamer.
The flavor mixes the flavors pretty well, though nothing really pops all that much. From the start, Iím thinking that some age will definitely do this well. Some flavors could probably be blended a bit better. The chocolate is the dominant character. Beyond that, thereís light bourbon and hints of oak plus a bit of roast and creamy, milked-up coffee. Mouthfeel is really thick and thereís some residual sweetness. Along with that, there is a bit of booze in the finish. Nicely done. I look forward to revisiting this one in the future, hopefully after the flavors integrate together just a bit more.
