4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 phaleslu (4528) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2012750 ml bottle from Reserve Society membership. 2012 vintage. Pours a jet-black color with a tiny tan head that fades. Held up to light, still not letting anything through. Hell yes. Aroma of vanilla, cocoa, fudge, brown sugar, molasses, dates, marshmallow- smooth, rich bourbon warms the nostrils. Very sweet overall aroma. Same for the flavor, but it shows some of the charred oak from the barrel, too, and never lets up on the bourbony goodness. Vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, cocoa, sweet dried fruits, coconut- really nice. Full-bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, rich, warming and boozy mouthfeel. Warms all the way down. Coats the palate, too. I really don’t think this is as sweet as the last batch of Black Tuesday, actually, which makes it kick just slightly more ass.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackIPA (749) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUN 16, 2013
Pours a cloudy deep brown with no head. Looks flat. Aromas of coffee, roast raisins and a whole fuckload of booze. Pretty damn hot on first sip. Taste is dark fruit, raisins, booze, booze, booze. Finishes with a cunt punt and a cock lashing both at once. Not as chocolaty as I had hoped and way, way hot. Meh.
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Jesterdeal (1098) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - JUN 13, 2013
Sample poured by the Bruery rep at Barcade’s event. Wowie! This is pure syrup. Aroma is amazing and sweet like a chocolate caramel sundae. Notes of bourbon (cherry and oak) coming through as well. Pours black and sticky with no carbonation whatsoever. Tastes super sweet with cherry chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and bourbon. Not very balanced but it certainly doesn’t seem like a 20% beer.
4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 tgncc (2334) - Bellmore, New York, USA - MAY 29, 2013
This is so goddam freakin awesome! The aroma is chocolate, vanilla, oak, brown sugar, light booze, not so boozy as one might think. The appearance is deep black, off-white head. The flavor is chocolate, vanilla, oak, molasses. The finish is sweet, chocolate, vanilla, light pine at the end. Medium/thick to thick in body. Perfect.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheAlum (4359) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle shared at Richard’s Graduation Party (Western Springs, IL). Thanks, guys! Batches 2 and 3 drank side-by-side. Pours a deep blackish pour, darker near opaque middle, good but not solid haze. Some brownish glow on edges and bottom shows some light, gentle copper. A frothy tannish head dies down to a ring, laces small. Aromas are rich cocoa, darker sweet malts, oak and gentle spirit. Sweet toffee, toast, vanilla. A richer sweet and thick experience, the nibs in this beer tend to kill out some of that dark fruit sweetness. Initial is rich cocoa presence compared to the base, lots of bakers cocoa, some good roasty nibs, gentle oak. Bigger nib presence, the middle shows coffee, caramel and toffee. Thicker and sweet, the nib presence distracts a bit from that. But overall, this is a pretty nice beer. The cocoa nibs detract from that sweet tang that regular Black Tuesday offers. Pretty nice beer. Better than Black Tuesday for me.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Rando7 (620) - Iowa, USA - MAY 26, 2013
Bottle at tasting. Viscous black with almost no head. Taste gourmet chocolate, vanilla, bourbon. Heavy alcohol presence. Thick syrupy palate with alcohol burn.
This is a very aggressive layered beer that won’t appeal to everyone. I loved it.

750ml bottle, courtesy of womancatstail. Black with minimal biege head. Have to say my first thought was "diabetes" - the vanilla and chocolate made me feel like I was drinking liquid sugar and it was just too much for me. That being said I did enjoy some aspects of it and liked some of the bourbon qualities that came through, also felt the alcohol was well hidden if a bit hot on the finish.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 8/20 Beerman6686 (3186) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Had high hopes for this one as I liked the Black Tuesday, but this was just brutal. Poured a thick black color with no head at all. Aroma was loads of bourbon, vanilla extract, fudge, booze, and burnt sugar. Flavor was so sweet it was almost unbearable, way to much booze burn and sugar, artificial chocolate and vanilla flavors and no underlying beer qualities at all really.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Vaiz (2708) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2013
Bottle @ ZeeBra Extreme Beer Festival 2013. Black pour, no head. Aroma is fruity chocolate, alcohol. Flavor is sweet alcoholic, smooth bourbon, vanilla, chocolate and a bit boozy. Nice brew though.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 timfoolery (904) - California, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Bottle from Bruery (redundant? Redundant?). Aroma and flavor or sweet-ass bourbon and milk chocolate. More characters you say? DIABETUS...DIABETUS...DIABETUS. Excellent beer.
