A Collaboration with Fess Parker.
Confession is a true collaborative effort between the wine and beer world. A variation of our sour blonde ale, brewed in part by the Parker team, was blended and fermented with juice pressed from Parker’s Riesling grapes, harvested in part by The Bruery team. The result is remarkable. Not quite beer, not quite wine. Fragrant fruit flavors warm the nose, infiltrated by a slight funk from the wild yeast. The first sip is reminiscent of a dry, white wine, but everything changes upon further examination as the flavors marinate and reveal themselves with each gulp.

Bottle... This beer is a baller!… Pours hazed and golden with a tiny, white head that’s gone faster than you can say “quick!” The aroma is a mélange of fallen pluots and plums accompanied by a major component of Riesling grape wine, and only a suggestion of damp, woody funk. The flavor offers a ‘very tart’ to ‘moderately sour’ level of acidity, complex and vinous fruitiness, and a hint of acetic acid. Finishes tart and tangy with a light splash of white wine vinegar. Thanks goes out to richiesd for this bottle of world class beer!

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is very wine like with a lot of grape notes and some fruit. Hints of acidity with grape skin, some red apple cider and stone fruit. Touch of citrus. Pours a very clear golden yellow with a small rocky head that recedes quickly to the edges and disappears while being slightly replenished by effervescent bubbles. No lacing and faint attempts at legs. Flavor has a moderate acidity, rather lactic with a faint malt presence. Some light grape skin and wine notes. Some nice citrus notes with some tropical fruit, especially pineapple. Light red apple cider notes with some nice peach and nectarine notes. Light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall a really nice sour beer with some really great fruit character. The wine character in the aroma is a bit overpowering but is well balanced and integrated in the flavor.

Poured from the beer truck at Sucréversary. Yellow with a nice white foam. Lots of green apple, pear, and grape notes. It does taste more like a wine with a fruit astringency. Finish is slightly sour, dry, and refreshing. One of my favorites at the festival.

Light-medium sweet flavor with drying white grapes, pear, lemon, mellow funk. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Good tangy finish with pale citrus, restrained funk, lemon. Tasty.

Bottle shared by Kenny. It pours hazy very pale gold with a tiny white head. The nose is sweet, oily, honey, coconut, vanilla, coconut water, must and wood. The taste is crisp, tart, sherbet, apple, pear, nice sourness, white grape, gooseberry, straw, light must and Riesling. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Kind of like a cheap sparkling white wine, but not necessarily in a bad way. Solid.

Bottle split at CBC on Aarons wrong date visit, big thanks to our Kenneth, 05/12/13. Hazed orange yellow with a thin off white covering that clears to pondwork and edgeing. Nose is dank citric wafts, straw, light citric smoke effect, burnt straw, bitter lemon rind, seared mandarin. Taste comprises burnt straw, musty dankness, dry rot, tarte pineapple, burnt citric dipped straw, bitter apricot skins - lots going on! Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy tarteness in the closure. Nice sour.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2013 Bottle cheers to Ken. Pours hazy straw with not much of a head. Nose has plenty of lemon, biscuit, vanilla, white grapes, sherbert, sugar, white pepper and peach. Plenty of summery peach notes with moderate almonds, plum tart and light apricot. Kind of like a dry and fruit driven Riesling with a sugary kick. Solid

Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Hazy paleish gold beer, no real head. Palate is light and dry and a little crisp. Fine carbonation. Mild lemony sourness with grape adding a light winey vibe and also providing a little balancing sweetness. Light dry finish. Not bad.
