Hey Bruery! we need to have a chat. Why are you trying to give me diabeetus? Boozy rock candy sounds cool too a 14 year old but in reality its not good. This thing is cloying as all hell which is all too common for Bruery. Taste is straight rock candy to the extreme, with very light bourbon, strawberry, raisin notes. No roastyness at all or real complexity just a slightly thin boozy bomb. STOP IT.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2013 Ba cuir here, old bottle. Smells like caramel and candy, very sweet malty and sticky. Ok at best

Pour a hazy brown, with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, dark - bourbon-soaked fruits, vanilla, bourbon, slight leather, and even some grapefruit bitterness in this one. - perhaps some cinnamon? At least some spices in here. The taste is quite sweet, with some bitterness to it as well. A little heat to it as well. Medium bodied, with a semi-flat carbonation.

Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is reddish brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours are raisins, bitterness, sweetness, fruits and malts.

Huge bit of whiskey on the nose, and a beautiful amber-brown color and tan head. The body is medium thickness with some sweetness left behind to help balance out the huge alcohol bill, 14.5%. I think there is a nice balance of fruitiness (strawberry?) and alcohol, with a touch of whiskey on the flavor, not as much as the nose.

Dark ruby red, off white head, good colour
Aroma - Fruity malts, red berries, some booze
Taste - Rich red berry fruity malts, rich sweet fruity malts, some booze though, some sweet red wine
Palate - Very soft carb, full body, smooth texture. Finish great flavour but a tad too boozy
Overall - Another excellent beer...but it’s a getting too boozy though. Still a 4.0

Bottle (2009) at Craig’s. Clear copper brown pour, no head to speak of. Big big sweet malty nose, tiny touch of booze, soft spicy vanilla oak character. Smooth sweet malts, slightly red fruit, slightly soft charred bourbon oak, lightest oaky glue resin on the finish. Surprisingly soft and smooth. Lovely.
