Had this as Cuir 100% Bourbon Barrel Aged: pours a deep amber color with off-white head. Tartness, funk, oak, bourbon, and some dark fruits on the nose; follows onto the palate. Very nice. Finishes tart and dry.

Cuir 25% Bourbon, 2011 bottle Very hazy red a nice 3 finger head. Aroma is loaded with molasses and figs. Sweet taste. Huge oak presence and a heavy prune juice taste. Absolutely delicious

Bottle share at DLD 2014. Pour is clear red/orange with a very small tan head. Aroma and flavor are borderline cloying - toffee, wood chips, vanilla, dark fruit, citrus, rock candy. Low carbonation, alcohol is well hidden mostly due to the high amount of sugar.

Traded bottle as Papier with a thick dose of black wax to keep that cap on. Pours a murky brown color with no real head just some bubbles. Big aroma of molasses, dark malt and a hint of steak sauce I think. Bold flavor with a bit of spice and a syrupy mouthfeel. This is definitely a sipper but for 14.5% the booze is actually well hidden. Strange lingering finish. Good but not really my thing.

Pours a cloudy amber brown color with aroma of fig, raisin, cherry, and wood. Thick complex flavor with lots of dark fruit- fig, raisin, and cherry-, wood, and bourbon round out the flavor. 2009 bottle. Very nice and very big beer.

2009 1st anniversary bottle, labeled "Papier". Black wax. Thanks to beace for this one. Shared with Jay. Hazy dark red brown color. Beautiful color, but no head or lace. The beer is pretty flat, but it doesn’t hurt it at all really, it’s pretty nice and has a good creamy texture. The beer is 5 years old, to be fair. Awesome nice dark fruit, vanilla aromas. Moderate sweet taste, lightly dry finish. Just a light hint of tart / tannic notes. Hides alcohol amazingly well. Very enjoyable stuff. Great one to share between two people.

cuir 25% bba. pours cloudy, almost dirty, light brown-reddish with a small light beige cap, some retention and lacing. fruity burnt caramel, booze, raisins, dried dark fruitiness, some minerals, coconut and nice woodsy notes, demerara, rum qualities, pepper. very fruity in fact. moderate carbonation, medium to full body - oily and sticky, cloying grassy-spicy and warming finish. nice.

On tap on 06/06/2011 as Bruery Cuir. Somewhat cloudy dark amber body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet vanilla, cherry, oak, and caramel aroma. Sweet oak, fruit, caramel, and light tart flavor. Medium full body with moderately low carbonation.

I have a 2011 bottle #02672. Poured in a Corsondonk chalice. Pours a dark brown with a brown head and lace. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, oak, bourbon, funky melon rind. Moderate carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of bourbon, roasted malts, brown sugar, light port, chocolate. Overall big and bold with plenty of complexity and familiar flavors.
