Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a cloudy brown with paperthin beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a fruity malt and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet roast and fruity malt and light oak. Easy to drink a very good old ale from The Bruery.

The pour is dark brown with a very small off white head. The nose is vanilla, a little vegetable, whiskey, wood, cherries. The taste is sweet almost entirely. Only a hint of bitter toward the end can be found. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean, body is heavy and finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry & biegaman -- c/o biegaman. 2011 vintage, bottle 01787, as ’Cuir’. Pours a murky reddish-brown with a small diminishing bubbly beige head. Great aroma with lots of dark fruit, some wood, brown sugar, light spices, bourbon, molasses and more. Flavour: Wow, wow, wow! Lots of dark fruit, brown sugar, caramel malt, hops, alcohol, molasses and wood -- just lovely. Alcohol is there but not 14%. Medium bodied. Simply put, a fantastic beer!

750ml bottle shared by biegaman, shared with me and blankboy - this is Cuir, 3rd anniversary (2011 - bottle #1787) - mmmmmm. Murky red pour large frothy tan head. Aroma - so smooth, nutty, boozy, light cocoa, vanilla, oak tannin - bitter - really really good stuff. Taste follows, massively fruity - what can I say? Best beer of the night. Average body, nice carbonation, bitter finish - beer of the night.

Cuir, 25% barrel aged. Red-brown, off-white head. Nose is big caramel apple, pears, prunes, light veggies. Taste is caramel apple, prunes, well-concealed alcohol. Warming alcohol halfway through but surprisingly not in the finish.

This was a fantastic brew - thanks for sharing, OmegaX. The pour came out as a deep, murky rustic orange with a thin frothy head. It smelled like oak, bourbon, cherries and sun-dried oranges with a hint of Merlot. I think the idea is to at first expose this one to oxidization, as it drinks like a port wine with a splash of hard cider. Flavors of orange Starburst, bourbon, honey, vanilla, oak and what seem like tannins with a touch of acidity in the background make for quite the sipper. Overall it was pretty rich in texture and flavor, but I can accept that with the generous 14.5% alcohol content. I enjoyed this one quite a bit!

Definitely a unique brew. Bottle into snifter. Aroma was nice bourbon, vanilla, some raisins, a touch of sour oak/wood notes, molasses, Looked brownish/red with an off-white head. Taste is boozey, with molasses, some raisins, port wine, bourbon, vanilla, cherry, tartness, oak, and sweet malts. Very complex and heavy. I enjoyed this beer but couldn’t drink much more than a snifter because it is so rich.

Coton - 750mL bottle, #3100. Poured clear, fiery garnet with a short, but easily-resuscitated yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up warm, sweet bourbon, golden raisins, and molasses with overtones of oak and Port wine.. a bit of peppery burn on the back of the nose.. big and enjoyable. The flavor found warm molasses and maple at the core, with sweet vanilla, bourbon, and peppery oak around.. finished with a lot of boozy sugars and bright, sweet bourbon. Heavy-bodied with low-moderate carbonation on the palate.. good integration from the barrel, and just about the right amount of it.. this was by all means a big beer, but there were enough sweets to keep the boozage in check.
