Pour a hazy brown, with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, dark - bourbon-soaked fruits, vanilla, bourbon, slight leather, and even some grapefruit bitterness in this one. - perhaps some cinnamon? At least some spices in here. The taste is quite sweet, with some bitterness to it as well. A little heat to it as well. Medium bodied, with a semi-flat carbonation.

A light molasses to the aroma. This is a great barleywine. Super fruity but with a strong molasses finish. Really top notch. Still, the finish is amazingly, for either a barleywine or an old ale. Great stuff.

Pours murky brownish orange with a thick off white head. Aroma is very complex. Figs, raisins, oak, cinnamon, clove, dark brown sugar, sour apple, and booze make up the amazing aroma. Taste is figs, plum, alcohol, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, apples, pears, and sweet oak barrel. Hides the 14.5% very well. Delicious.

Dark hazy murky brown/ copper color with almost no head. Aroma is figs/ dates and some port. Flavor is boozy, porterish with some dried fruit notes and a sweet, alcoholic aftertaste. Very full palate, boozy and warming. Kinda good but i am sure this is going to give me a bad headache tomorrow...

Labelled as Cuir. Kinda funky and super, super sweet. Pears and spice and booze. Really, just losts and lots and more fruit. This beer is like a fruit coctail w/ extra corn syrup. It is kinda tasy but not a great beer.

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a cloudy brown with paperthin beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a fruity malt and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet roast and fruity malt and light oak. Easy to drink a very good old ale from The Bruery.

The pour is dark brown with a very small off white head. The nose is vanilla, a little vegetable, whiskey, wood, cherries. The taste is sweet almost entirely. Only a hint of bitter toward the end can be found. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean, body is heavy and finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry & biegaman -- c/o biegaman. 2011 vintage, bottle 01787, as ’Cuir’. Pours a murky reddish-brown with a small diminishing bubbly beige head. Great aroma with lots of dark fruit, some wood, brown sugar, light spices, bourbon, molasses and more. Flavour: Wow, wow, wow! Lots of dark fruit, brown sugar, caramel malt, hops, alcohol, molasses and wood -- just lovely. Alcohol is there but not 14%. Medium bodied. Simply put, a fantastic beer!

750ml bottle shared by biegaman, shared with me and blankboy - this is Cuir, 3rd anniversary (2011 - bottle #1787) - mmmmmm. Murky red pour large frothy tan head. Aroma - so smooth, nutty, boozy, light cocoa, vanilla, oak tannin - bitter - really really good stuff. Taste follows, massively fruity - what can I say? Best beer of the night. Average body, nice carbonation, bitter finish - beer of the night.

Cuir, 25% barrel aged. Red-brown, off-white head. Nose is big caramel apple, pears, prunes, light veggies. Taste is caramel apple, prunes, well-concealed alcohol. Warming alcohol halfway through but surprisingly not in the finish.
