COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filmishmish, an Arabic term for “when the apricots bloom”, is a barrel aged sour blonde ale to which apricots have been added. The beer’s already fruity esters are enhanced by the hint of fresh apricot jam and wood shavings. Filmishmish is a well balanced beer, keeping the apricot and oak character present, but putting the flavor of the well formed sour ale at the forefront.

A real jewel of a beer. Apricot comes across huge in the nose, but not cloyingly, this is the real deal fruity natural dried California style of apricot that comes across. When this hit my tongue, the apricot exploded with flavor. The sourness really draws out the apricot and the two characters really play off each other. Not to mention the oak, which adds another layer of complexity. I wish I could drink this every day, but I know this is most likely a one off.

I just love this beer and wish i could get more of it Everything I enjoy in an American sour beer, and apricots as a bonus! Very refreshing and delicious.

Bottle pours fairly clear orange with very brief white head. Tart aroma of sour and apricot. Taste matches with the apricot, other light fruits, funk and tartness. Sour finish lingers as it warms. Fairly thick but non-syrupy palate, my bottle did not have the fruit residue problems. soft carbonation but does have an acidic tingle.

Bottle shared at the barbecue. Aroma is sour apricot with some tart crabapple. Pours like a slushy and like baby food. This was a particularly thick batch. The unsettling part is that it is mildly carbonated so random bubbly bloop out of the slurry. It looks like a terrible lab experiment. Chunky film all over the glass and bottle. Taste is wonderfully tart and full like sour apricot gravy. Sweet and fruity but puckering. Mouthfeel would be great if not for the fact that it feels like it was drinking a fruit smoothie. Overall, delicious and horrible looking.

Bottle. Pour is fruit smoothy consistency. Very particulate. Lots and lots of residue on glass. Flavor is tart apricot and quite refreshing. Texture is exotic but not bad.

On tap at The Bruery. Murky peach colored pour. Thin off-white cap, decent carbonation. Aromas of musty fruit. Peaches, apricot, stone fruit. Some nice oak, vanilla, hay...a light breadiness. Taste is really nicely balanced. Lots of fruit flavor in this one with a medium tartness. Lightly acidic. Musty apricot and peach...the funk is mild through the middle with bread notes and hints of floral bouquet. A light spice leads into the finish where a nice tartness gives way to a dry fruity finish. Really nice beer.

Bottle thanks to Will/Lee. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong apricot juice and funk. Thin mouthfeel with strong apricot and funk with nice sournes. So good

Bottle: Thanks, Tim. Murky, fully opaque, borderline radioactive shades of peach & orange with a white head much akin to what you’d get from a Sprite or 7-Up. Heavy must up front in the aroma that subsides into a smörgåsbord of apricot, stone fruit, peach, lactic acid, funky hay, slight vinegar, & a finishing touch of drying wood. Lacto duly noted with the first sip... Incredibly sour! Ripping notes of apricot & peach with a strong but not overwhelming vinegar, lactic, & acidic sourness. Less musty funk on the palate, perhaps just a hint of wet hay, but still plenty of drying oak in the finish that sucks the moisture from your mouth like a vacuum. Gets even more acidic with time; aftertaste of wood, stone fruit skin, apricot, vinegar, & lactic acid... Wow. Like a liquid apricot Warhead. Sharp, effervescent carbonation. Another great Bruery sour that’s right up my alley.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden with white head. Love apricot sours, this one is quite good. Very smooth, tart apricots. Really nicely put together.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours muddy copper with a small head but something that looks like OJ pulp around the top of the glass. Aroma of sourness, apricots, light oak, pale malts, and light spices. Flavor the same with a nice sour note and the apricots blending well. Average texture. The weird appearance is the only thing that takes away from this beer.
