COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filmishmish, an Arabic term for “when the apricots bloom”, is a barrel aged sour blonde ale to which apricots have been added. The beer’s already fruity esters are enhanced by the hint of fresh apricot jam and wood shavings. Filmishmish is a well balanced beer, keeping the apricot and oak character present, but putting the flavor of the well formed sour ale at the forefront.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, lemons, straw, and hints of apricots. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of brettanomyces and acetone, combined with medium notes of malt, and light notes of tart finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of anacrime. Pours a cloudy golden with a small, rough white head. Very tart and funky aroma. Medium body, lowish carbonation, a slight initial whiff of sweet fruit - I actually believe I can detect a little apricot - but soon a very dry and astringent tartness takes over. A subtle and pleasant touch of wood. Very enjoyable actually. A Bruery take on FouFoune? 250213

THE Fruit Sour tasting. Very hazy orange beer, residual white head. Light palate, dry and crisp. Whisper of sulphur on the nose! Sour tart beer! White wine sourness with tart generic fruits. As with many fruits sours I am hard pressed to tell what the fruits are through the sourness. It’s okay.

Unfortunately very lowly carbonated, but orange in color with a definite haze to it. Decently funky on the nose. Lots of apricot which gives a touch of sweetness. A bit of oak and maybe some grass, but fairly simple aroma. The flavor has a pleasant tartness of lemon and a solid apricot flavor as well. A hint of fruit sweetness with a moderate oak presence. Again, a touch on the simple side, but I definitely enjoyed this one.
