2013 75 cl bottle. Pours almost Black with a transparent edge, and with no head. Aroma has chocolate, nutella, port wine, bourbon, vanilla, hazel nut, toasted malts, caramel. Taste has lots of sweet chocolate, some dry barrel notes, hint of salt. Lots of nutella! Oily body and no carb. A treat, but a little alcoholic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2014 edition. poured into snifter. aroma: nose on this is ridiculously amazing. here we’ve got blueberry scone, melted chocolate, toasted nuts, and brown sugar. appearance: surprisingly, not very dark. dark brown with an auburn translucency around the top. virtually no head. pours like coca cola. taste: sweet marachino cherry, chocolate (cherry cordial almost), some salty nuts, bitter oak, burning bourbon, and the finish is awash in sweet vanilla and burnt sugars. palate: slick, full bodied, soft on the carb. long finish that burns sweetly... bruery does it right. probably does this stout thing the best, as far as i’m concerned. i’ve had your BVDLs, your TG big guns. They don’t compare, really.

A- pours a thick and opaque taupe with mahogany edges and a deep tan head that dissipates quickly. No lacing. S- like any good Bruery stout, the aroma burns the nostrils and clears the sinuses. Chocolate, vanilla, See's caramels and espresso are great. Toasted marshmallows and graham crackers. Some minor earth and barrel notes towards the end. Roasted hazelnuts mingle throughout but never stand out. Strong ethyl alcohol wraps it up and drowns out any competing scents. M- no doubt, heavy syrupy body. Flat carb. T- sugars cookies, cake batter, vanilla, caramel malts and chocolate get a jump start. S'mores and cloying pancake syrup. Hazelnut flavored Torani and bourbon in the middle that lasts through the flamboyant finish. Bitter, green twigs as it warms. Some mild charcoal and clay right before the alcohol overwhelms the ending. Hint of straw and zinc in the aftertaste.

Creamy dark pour with light tan head. Thick chewy stout with lots of creaminess from the hazelnuts. It’s like coffee with extra cream just how I like it.

Flaska 2013. (Thanks biggsbowler). Blytung motorolja i upphällningen.

750 pulled out tonight by Syndicate!! Darrel wields the beer penis tonight!! Pours thick and black (as expected) head is short lived.. nothing when it comes to lacing or retention. Nose is very nice... oaky chocolate with tons of barrel presence.. Unfortunately for me, the nut presence is very artificial.. Not "nutty" but extract... Not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely could be less extract forward. Grey Monday is everything that all the huge ABV Bruery beers deliver on... big vanilla and chocolate.. oak and hazelnut candy... I dig it for sure, but it is an ABV and sugar bomb that isn’t good at all when delivered in a single glass.. Too sweet and the hazelnut extract is an error that I expect from Mr. Rue. Glad I got a chance to try this one... Seriously.. Darrel is an animal!! But for my palate, Grey Monday/Black Tuesday/Chocolate Rain are Diabeetus bottles.

750ml bottle in a teku. Pours black with a small, beige head. Aroma of bourbon and oak, chocolate and roasted malts, some hazelnuts, sweetness, vanilla, and some alcohol. Flavor the same with a lot of bourbon and nuttiness but a little too sweet for my liking. Thick texture. A cool beer but I could never drink a lot of it.
