Black pour, moderate to small head, minimal lacing and retention. Aroma is big with notes of nut, bourbon barrel, vanilla, chocolate, darker fruit, roast, alcohol. Full bodied, alcoholic, sweet, and choconutty. Decadent but doesn’t have the endless layers of complexity that some other big imperials have.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2014 Got to try a small sample of this at the Swamp Head Bottle Drop bottle share. Pours dark brown, murky, almost like a BA Old Ale or Barleywine, but maybe a bit darker. Nearly no head, what is there is a yellowish khaki color that is just a ring around the top of the glass. Aroma of big caramel notes, pralines, hazelnuts, booze, huge vanilla, maybe some coocnunt. Flavor follows the aroma perfectly with massive nutty caramel vanilla notes, some light marshmallow, bourbon galore, booze, sweet brown sugar. Wow. This blows away BT and CR for me. Really drinks more like a BA Barleywine or BA Scotch Ale than a stout. Mouthfeel is big, thick, boozy, and warming with low carbonation. Just a really beautiful beer and thus far easily my favorite variant of the BT brew.

From the tap at Sucréversary. Dark and oily with a firm head. Really sweet molasses and brown sugar flavors with an oily mouthfeel. Aroma was caramel, cocoa, and nuts. Finish was sugary and cloying. Hard to tell the alcohol content though.

Pours a deep oily black color with a subtle trace of khaki foam. Nose is full of boozy chocolate, sweet sugar some traces of nuttiness. The palate hides the booze with smooth silky but not overly thick mouthfeel. Lot of rootbeer barrel candy, vanilla bean, caramel and mr. goodbar flavors. Huge beer... was happy to sip a few ounces but not sure I could hit a full glass pour but I likes it :)

Bottle @ Greg’s apartment. Thanks to Wade for sharing. Pours a thick black appearance with a thin head. Definitely some cola like whiskey booziness in the nose. Nutty, root beer, vanilla notes as well. Mouth feel isn’t as thick as I expected. Actually pretty smooth flavor. Some boozy bite on the finish. Turtle dessert flavor. The hazelnuts add a really cool flavor. Cool beans.

Zwarte kleur met een matige kraag. Ruikt bourbon, vanille, crème. Zware volle smaak. Vanille, crème. Bittere afdronk. Lekker maar zwaar.

This one poured a thick black color with a brown head. Aroma was of extremely underattenuated mpreial stout, dark fruits and chocolate. Flavor was similar, ltos fo booze, some barrel, not really much hazelnuts, pretty similar to black tuesday.

Sampled at DLD tasting. Pours a dark brown black without much head at all. Big boozy aroma. Taste is sweet with a slight nutty finish but the hazelnut isnt as prominent as the vanilla/chocolate black tuesday base beer.
