Ichigo Highway is a collaborative beer that we created with Hangar 24 Brewing from Redlands, CA. The base style is a sessionable sour red ale that we aged in oak barrels along with a whopping amount of strawberries, most of which were picked from the fields besides Hangar 24’s brewery. Aged for approximately 8 months, this beer has developed a pleasant funk and a delightful acidity that is balanced by the intensely sweet aroma and flavor of the strawberries as well as a unique dryness achieved by using a sake yeast along with our house strain along with souring bacteria. Available in November. 5.5% ABV, Best enjoyed fresh due to the fleeting aroma and flavor of the strawberries

Yikes. pours clear yellow no head no lacing. Aroma of strawberries and armpit. A lot of armpit. Taste is sour with no hints of the red wine barrels or the strawberry. Palate is average I would’ve liked it livelier. This is not to my liking.

Pours a very hazy, dark golden amber color with tangerine edges and a half finger off-white head that quickly settles into a very thin ring. Minimal spotty lacing left behind. Heavy yeast sediment floating around. Funky, vinous aroma with light fruit, prominent phenols/bandaid along with a strong jammy strawberry presence. Slightly creamy with dry oak, musty brett, strawberry and cream but the phenols are really odd. Still smells pretty good though. Tart, sour and funky with a strong tart berry flavor and again, an unpleasant phenol character that is very potent in the finish. Slightly creamy with dry, toasted oak and musty bugs followed by bandaid and acidic tartness. Harsh solvent nail polish/acetone in finish which really hurts the drinkability of this beer a lot.

750 ml bottle shared with a friend. Murky red/orange with off-white head. Aromas of strawberries, light vinegar, subtle funk. Tastes of strawberries, light vinegar, tart acidic notes. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Very delicious with lots of strawberries still present.

Smells good, like sour strawberry candy. Very tart strawberry taste, like eating the top. Good mouthfeel for a sour.

Bottle at catch 22 bottle share! Pours a murky brown with little to no head or lace. Aroma and taste are super sour, hint of sweet fruit, I guess that’s the strawberry. Woah, intense but amazing.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a clear red with small pink head. Aroma is strong strawberry tart and oak. Thin mouth with nice tart strawberry, light funk, puckering sour finish, really enjoyed this one.

Muddy brown appearance. Aroma has some sour yeast (lacto?) and there is dry brett also. A mild flavor of cheddar cheese with the yeast.

"Pretty easily my least favorite sour from the Bruery, though still quite enjoyable. That just speaks to the high standard that they’ve set that I felt this one didn’t quite reach. Odd but intriguing aroma and flavor of primarily sweet strawberry and stinky cheese. the sour/tart aspect is a little lightm though pleasant, till you get to to the cloudy prinkish red dreggs on the bottom of the bottle...then you feel it in the jaw. In the end, this is a beer I’d drink anytime, but not for the price. One timer at $20."

March 22, 2014 - on tap at Bruery tasting room. Reddish orange pour with limited head. Aroma was malt, spice / cinnamon and strawberry. Taste was sour fruit and some wood. Interesting that the sour did not seem to come out in the aroma.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, very muddy dark red pour with thin to no head, aroma brought notes of big strawberry, white wine, oak, hints of lemon, vanilla, slight earth. Taste is a mix of big strawberry, fleshy red fruit into some vanilla, oak, lemon, tart berry, finishing fairly sour, slightly oaky. Pretty nice.
