bottle poured a transparent light yellow in color with a thin white head that retained a delicate ring. aroma has light acid, wheat, mellow yeast, and some faint sour lemon. mouth feel is light and crisp with enough carbonation to froth it up a bit. flavor gets sharper on the acid, white grape skins, wheat, sour lemon, light yeast, and has a finish that hangs forever. extremely flavorful but delicate at the same time. this one really impressed me.

From a growler fill from the Bruery. Aroma is yeasty, with a little lemony spicy note. Pale straw, fizzy with a small white head. Sour, tart, dry and carbonated. Light and refreshing. Who needs lemonade? This would be an awesome summer beer. Awesome beer.

Draft.
Pours slightly hazy, ultra-pale yellow, almost dishwatery, with a small, fizzy white head that quickly disappears.
Nose is musty, some horse blanket - wet leather really sticks out.
Taste is a combination of musty, wet leather and some citric sourness & acidity, with hints of barnyard coming through. Zesty, refreshing, delicious.
Mouthfeel is light, softly fizzy.
Drinkability is through the roof - low abv, very refreshing. on a hot summer’s day, there’s no end to how much of this I think I could put down.
Overall, an interesting Berliner Weiss that seems to have just a touch more of a gueuze-like quality to it than is common. Loved it.

On tap at The Bruery. No syrup. I think this beer is really underrated. Tasted like a piece of sourdough bread with a hint of orange peel, yeast, lemon. Beautiful golden yellow color with creamy thick white head. Super refreshing and absolutely wonderful. I hope they start bottling this one.

Bottle. Aroma: Lots of funk, white wine (cat piss), lemon. Weird but nice. Appearance: Milky yellow with small head. It’s far from cute but it is so unusual I kinda like it. Taste: Packed with flavors I can’t believe it. Lots of lemon, brett. This is very dry and very tart. I love it. Palate: Dry, thin
Overall: This is the more drinkable and refreshing beer I’ve ever had. This 3% berliner weisse couldn’t have been better executed. If it wasn’t for the price tag and availabilty, that’d be my go to summer beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 AHTOH (101) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 10, 2010
750 mL. Poured into Bruery tulip. Beautiful straw yellow color. Somewhat cloudy, though far from as cloudy as Bavarian hefeweizens. Transmits light, though far from translucent. Nice frothy white head bubbles down to practical inexistence after a minute. Slight chalk-y scent, like some gueuze; though zero chalkyness on the palate – a positive attribute. Huge sour nose. Lemon. Subtle hints of floral and honey. Sour all throughout palate. Taste of lemon, sour apple. Refreshing and crisp mouth feel.

Had on tap.
Pours a nearly clear straw yellow with not much of a head or lacing for that matter.
Aroma of pineapple along with some bread and a little bit of corn.
There is a huge rush of tartness upon the first sip followed by a big rush of corn and cooked beans. It almost reminded me of a baked bean like flavor but it strangely works quite well here. Mouthfeel is nice and light with an extremely dry finish that is appropriate for the style.
Overall, a very impressive Berliner Weiss and one of the better ones I have had. I enjoy it without any syrup as the flavor of the beer alone is wonderful.

Enjoyed on tap at Sugar Maple. It pours a murky yellow with no head to speak of. It smells like fish or a freshwater lake. The taste hits you with rye on the back of your tongue that quickly fades and is replaced with sour on the tip of your tongue. The finish is split between both of these flavors and leaves you thinking. A very unusual and complex beer - I found it challenging and oddly delicious.
4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 mtoast (336) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 19, 2009
75cL bottle, no dates. Fizzy pale and yellow, stark white foam, very short retention but decent lacing. Very light on the aroma, some lemon rind and a slight lactic note. Very light flavor, little bit of malt/wheat with a heavy lacto finish. Not exactly sour, it has some lemony notes but nothing quite "sour". I still love it and would drink it with lunch every damn day if I could.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2013 12 ounce goblet on tap at Downtown Brown’s in San Diego. Aroma is acetic with some apple acetaldehyde aromas present. Pretty harsh, sour aroma. Transparent light golden body with a small, white head. Lightly tart acetic flavor with some biscuity malts after. Otherwise, this is pretty bland without too much going on. You can only do so much with this style, though (6/3/6/3/12).~~~~RE-RATE~~~~~750ml bottle purchased at Davis Beer Shoppe. For some reason I remember liking this beer more than my initial rating. The aroma on this is really nice with some lemony acetic notes, and light sour funkiness. Moderately hazy pale straw body with a fizzy white head. Pretty strong head. Starts a little tart and a little lemony, before light cereal malts take over to finish. No bitterness, ans a good light maltiness. Refreshing, and a fantastic berlinerweiss.
