Straw color, hazy and effervescent with a yeasty citrus aroma. Refreshing. Light. Great balance of lactobacillus tartness with a clean finish. Only a hint of wheat. Refreshing.

On draught at Bailey’s Taproom. Hazy yellow golden. Aroma is lactic tart, lemon, and yeast sweetness. Taste is light berry, sweet and tart yeast, lactic acid, and subtle grain. Substantial ticklish mouthfeel. Ends light and very refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
An interesting brew for sure. pours a fizzy bright orange with a thin sparkling white head that dies instantly. The nose has mild acidic citrus aromas as well as bready malt notes and slight sour notes that accompany a candied banana. A bit sweet and sour in the middle with a heavy mouthfeel that ends with lingering but mild acetic sourness and a touch of astringent bitterness. An odd but tasty brew

Ranks braid. #1250. Sourness an sweet at the same time. Mid taste has went from flatlined dullness to a pleasing and interesting lens of weak candy banana, wheat and acidic lemon. The acidity isn’t really there. Banana becomes a bit more apparent when warmer but the sourness is retained. Mildly complex and highly enjoyable. A good beer to enjoy while executing magpies.

Cloudy beige body......... no cap. So very light. Memories of citrus, orange, grape, dry, and light. Complety clean aftertaste. I can truly hit the wheaty malt. Buble gum! Tartness builds........ lingers. Does sour equal yum like the bottle says, sure why not.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 mL bottle from 2011.
Aroma is acidic and citrus forward with quite a bit of lemon character but also some tart orange. Light tropical fruit notes with a moderate wheat character.
Pours a fairly clear, pale yellow straw color with a moderately sized, frothy, white head that recedes to a small layer then persists throughout. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is fairly acidic with a strong lactic note. Moderate lemon notes with a touch of lime. Moderately strong, somewhat stale wheat character. Light tropical fruit notes with a hint of barnyard in the finish. A bit of a mineral character in the finish as well.
Mouthfeel is light bodied with moderately high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a pretty nice Berliner. Nice refreshing tartness with some good wheat notes. I don’t think the age helped this though as the wheat has become a bit stale.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml capped bottle pours a hazy straw color with a finger of white head that leaves no lacing on the glass. Aroma is orange zest with hints of yeast and citrus. Taste is an orange zesty bitterness with a lemon sourness and spicy hop bitterness with very little sweetness. Light bodied with little carbonation. Not something that I particularly enjoyed. Disappointed with this one.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This one is at least 4 years old, been in my basement with the original cap! The aroma is sweet light candi sugar and light tart. The body is pretty clean with a balanced lightly sweet wheat note immediately followed by a pleasant clean balanced tartness. So simple yet so delicious in the tradition of the style.

Dammit! It's! So! TART!!! But so very good! Slight wheaty aroma with a huge tart flavor that has some sweetness in the back side.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy orangish brown from the bottle with quickly dissipating bubbly white head that leaves little to no lace. Aroma is funky lactic wheat with a hint of lemon in there, Belgian yeast on the back end. Taste is like a funky Belgian wit, a hint of acidity, dry and heavy on the wheat. Not bad, definitely to the style guidelines, but was hoping for a little bit more.
