3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ The Reservoir (Waterbury). Clear golden/orange wit a small white head and some lacing. Aroms if fruity with citrus, lot of hops, grassy notes and light floral presence. Taste is slight sweet with citrus, fruits and grass with a light bitter finish. Medium body. Good carbonation. Slightly sticky and dry finish. Very good beer. Main feature is the large amount of hops in the aroma. Drinkable and quenching.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: APR 4, 2014 Super fresh growler, I believe this was release day for a new batch and man can you tell. Like the difference between eating fruit off the tree and from the grocery store. The hops and malt are in full display and it is lovely. Everything is clean, clear and in balance here. I just love fresh beer.
The crazy thing to me is this tastes like a dry-hopped Brett ale -- one of my very favorite styles. I donít drink many lagers so I donít know if thatís typical.
For me, The Bruery really shines on this moderate ABV stuff.
UPDATE, 3 months and as couple growlers later. Itís time to raise my rating -- Iím in love with this one. It is an incredible beer every time. Amazing as a hop showcase. Pretty much perfection for what it seems to want to be. I am in the Bruery Reserve Society but have passed up the limited beers every time lately in favor of this. Iíve had a few other hoppy lagers now and none come close. Calling it 4.4 and feeling like Iím underrating it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bright golden appearance. Thick, sticky hops w/ mango flavor dominating. Not as crisp as I'd like for a hoppy lager.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From bottle at Royal Oak Beer Fest. Solid beer. Foamy head on pour. Creamy body. Very subtly hops in favor of slightly sour yeasty wheat characteristics.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2014 On tap at Triangle Wine Co. Pours a hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is grassy, hoppy and a little citrus. Taste is citrus hops forward with an almost oak flavor in the end and lasting smooth bitterness. Body and texture are slightly above average. This is quite a nice surprise. I have never heard of the brewery but itís something worth giving a shot. Recommended if you like IPAs or hoppy beers.

Pours a hazy yellow with a medium white head...solid lacing and retention. Aroma has nice grass and light hoppy spice. Flavor has great hoppiness...fresh...grassy and spicy...solid bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium/full and silky with a dry grassy finosh that is fresh and pungent. Very nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at The Bruery, poured into taster. Hazy yellow in appearance with thin white head that settles to a persistent film. Leaves some lacing. Aroma is hop-forward with citrus, floral, and pine. There is a little grain, too. Hops carry the day in taste, too, with a moderate bitterness that is less than expected based on the nose. A thin ribbon of sweet malts is perceptible in the background. Nothing shocking in the palate: medium body, crisp texture, average carbonation, dry bitter finish.
