On draught at the Bruery Provisions. Pours a hazy golden color with creamy white head. Aroma is grapefruit and citrus, along with some hay and cracker. Taste is sweet yet crisp with some nice bitterness. Medium bodied with a bitter finish. I really liked this.

11 mar 2012, tap at The Bruery. Slightly skunky lager aroma with lots of earthy hops. Thin and fizzy. Big hoppy lager with bitter grassy hop finish. I could drink this lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fantastic brew, would never really have guessed it was a lager. Clean, crisp, fruity bouquet. A little dank on the palate in just the right way, with a very nice, soft, mild malt character fully supporting the hops.

On tap at Shipmates. It poured a golden amber color with a hoppy aroma. There is an IPA taste to it which was a little surprising. It also has a pine and floral taste to it. Good finish.

A - Pours a cloudy golden-yellow color with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down slowly leaving behind a good amount of lace. S - Aroma is full of lots of hops. There is a good amount of pine and earthy hops with just a bit of citrus hops in the background. There is also just a bit of grain and funk mixed in as well. T - Starts off nice and hoppy with a good amount of bitterness. There is a bit of grain flavor alongside. Through the middle the bitterness really kicks in with some more traditional lager flavors. The finish has a nice hop kick to it with some bitterness and a bit of funky grain that linger. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Super smooth and a nice dry mouthfeel from the hops. D - Very drinkable. This is without a doubt one of the best Pilsners I have ever had. The hop flavor is super strong and has a really nice profile from start to end.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Spicy and grassy hoppy aroma. The flavor is crisp, with grassy, floral, and spicy hop notes, with a relatively clean pale malty base. Good stuff.

This is relatively tame, but it’s still the most rabid in the department of hoppiness that I’ve seen from the Bruery. There is some tepid bite going on, despite its lager moniker, but the beer still behaves like a second cousin to an IPA. There is little complexity to the Humulus, but at least it has fangs to some extent.

Orange County tasting room, pour 5/5. Best imperial lager I’ve had, because it gets the lager palate right. Hops are huge. Mostly grapefruit. Fruity lager is a weird concept, but here it is. Flavor is nicely bitter, really like biting into a grapefruit. Very dry finish, tons of hop bitterness. Also something weird in there I can’t place.

Sample on Day 1 of the Aces & Ales Strong Beer Festival on 08/12/2011. Pours a pale golden color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of spiced hops, grapefruit and sweet malt. The finish is hoppy with a citrusy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
