An amazing lager. Ludicrously hoppy, but not to bitter. Great smell, great taste.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2014 Super fresh growler, I believe this was release day for a new batch and man can you tell. Like the difference between eating fruit off the tree and from the grocery store. The hops and malt are in full display and it is lovely. Everything is clean, clear and in balance here. I just love fresh beer.
The crazy thing to me is this tastes like a dry-hopped Brett ale -- one of my very favorite styles. I don’t drink many lagers so I don’t know if that’s typical.
For me, The Bruery really shines on this moderate ABV stuff.
UPDATE, 3 months and as couple growlers later. It’s time to raise my rating -- I’m in love with this one. It is an incredible beer every time. Amazing as a hop showcase. Pretty much perfection for what it seems to want to be. I am in the Bruery Reserve Society but have passed up the limited beers every time lately in favor of this. I’ve had a few other hoppy lagers now and none come close. Calling it 4.4 and feeling like I’m underrating it.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Regular version on tap at The Bruery..Pours cloudy gold with a fluffy white head..Aroma was amazing with floral, citrus and piney hops.. Citrus hop flavor with a lingering bitterness..Thin with lively carbonation.. Very dangerous at 7.2% for how easy it is to drink.. For me this is the best beer they have made outside of Black Tuesday.

On tap at the bruery. Color was a bright gold semi clear with a white head. Aromas of slight sweet malt and somw citrus. Nice and smooth in your mouth with some carbonation. Medium light body. Solid bitter hops with a good malt balance. Finish is on the drier side. Good beer.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the brewery in August 2009.
Poured a dark golden with a nice wheat head and a decent amount of lacing as it went down. The smell and taste were both fantastic. Loads of citrus hops, mostly orange; also, a bit of some tropical fruits. The taste went along very similar lines, with the addition of a nice bitterness that nicely balanced out the citrus and tropical flavors. The mouthfeel was a bit light and exceptionally drinkable. Very delicious--hopefully they bottle this.

A - Pours a cloudy golden-yellow color with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down slowly leaving behind a good amount of lace.
S - Aroma is full of lots of hops. There is a good amount of pine and earthy hops with just a bit of citrus hops in the background. There is also just a bit of grain and funk mixed in as well.
T - Starts off nice and hoppy with a good amount of bitterness. There is a bit of grain flavor alongside. Through the middle the bitterness really kicks in with some more traditional lager flavors. The finish has a nice hop kick to it with some bitterness and a bit of funky grain that linger.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Super smooth and a nice dry mouthfeel from the hops.
D - Very drinkable. This is without a doubt one of the best Pilsners I have ever had. The hop flavor is super strong and has a really nice profile from start to end.

Growler shared by drabmuh. Thanks Matt!
A: Slightly hazy yellow hue with a huge white head that leaves a ton of lacing.
S: Really hoppy. Wow. Smells like an IPA.
T: Insanely delicious. Fresh and tasty hops. This beer has greatly exceeded my expectations. This beer is nothing short of phenomenal. It’s remarkably smooth and easy to drink. I could put away endless pints of this until I fell off the bar stool. Seriously, it’s that good.
M: Wonderful aftertaste with long lasting hop flavors.
D: Without question the best imperial pilsner I have ever had. Wow - my highest recommendation.

Medium bubble avg dissipating head. Amber - like a lager. Hoppy nose. Hoppier than the sterling version. Citrusy hoppy flavor that lingers on the tongue.
