Humulus Lager is an India Pale Lager brewed with 4 lbs. of hops per barrel and weighing in at 7.2% ABV. This beer is all about the hops-- the lager yeast allows the hops to be in the forefront.

On tap at Toronado: Aroma had scents of fresh hops and spicy yeast while the beer appeared as a bold gold color topped by a thin layer of film head. The flavor stings of hops and pine plus additional citrus notes. Also, allows for malt in a sweet syrup and sugar profile. Finishes metallic with strong grapefruit and orange like tastes.

Draught. Pours a clear golden color with a moderate white head on it. Nose has some slight corn elements, but has a very pleasant floral hoppiness coming off it. Taste is fairly bitter, yet remains crisp and fresh. Really pleasant beer.

On tap at Church Key. Pours a clear bright golden with lasting wisp of head. Aroma is lager sweetness with hop bitterness. Flavor is clean, with grapefruit, dank yeast, and slight lager tang. Outstanding.

Tasted on tap at the Bistro 12th Annual IPA Festival on 8/8/09. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is grapefruity and floral. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are orange and fruity. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Good carbonation. Nice balance. A medium bitter IPA. Nice crisp finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Had on tap at the Bruery many times. Pours a hazy golden yellow with good carbonation, lots of bubbles, and good head. Aroma is wonderfully hoppy with pine, citrus, and standard hoppy flowers. Taste is awesomely hoppy with lots more citrus to back it up. Bitterness doesn’t overwhelm - a perfect balance of extra hops on top of good malts. Finishes smooth, crisp, hoppy. Very good.

GABF 2010, really liked this. medium golden pour. Its all about the hops here. Big Simcoe? aroma & flavor. Bitterness just dominates here in a good fashion. Tons a flavor. Well done

A: Very floral, lots of melons and some mango. P: light copper with an inch head. T: Mango, grass, grains, caramalized onions. Finishes with lots of pine. M: full body and a bit bitter, specially towards the finish, ends dry. O: Not my favorite humulus but this is still a very good beer possibly as good as a pilsner can get.
