Bottle from the brewery. Iíve been sitting on this one for a little while and since company came over I thought this would be the perfect beer to shock some people! I guess the first shocker was the self pouring bottle. She opens with a huge hiss and foams violently for a few seconds until the pressures equalize. Pours a slightly cloudy reddish brown color with a huge bubbly tan head that piles it high but recedes almost instantly. Initially I got lots of banana and tropical fruit but that seemed to quickly give way to more of a lemon and tart cherry thing on the nose. Earthy funk with a touch of yeastiness and wood round out the nose. The flavor still holds a bit of sweet brown sugary malt which is a bit surprising! The funky earthiness is more prevalent in the flavor and mixes well with the dates which add a bit of sweetness. Light tart tropical fruit with just a touch of wood and alcohol round everything out. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet tart lightly tongue pricking mouthfeel. Hugely interesting beer, that most of my guests couldnít stomach. A little sweet for a sour, but I really enjoyed this beer.

Red pour. Nose is typical lactic Bruery nose, some sour cherries, guava. Taste is sour cherries, guava, actually do get some dates, a touch of bitterness to offset the sweet and sour.

750mL at SDBW kickoff bottle share. Pours a low haze, deeper red/brown. Nose is cranberry, mild acetic, heavy tamarind, caramel. Essentially the same as Marron Acidifie. Taste is pretty much Marron Acidifie as well- spicy tamarind, cranberry, chocolate, some stale caramel candy. Woody, stale palate. Whatever was added to this one, guavas I think, is long gone.

75cl bottle at CBC Clerkenwell, thanks to Paul! Cloudy light brown ale with no head. The aroma is fruity and malty; chock-full-of caramel and sour cherries. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor is funky, yeasty and sour and loaded with caramel and dark cherries. Finishes tangy and fairly dry.

2013-08-17. Hazy red brown body is headless. Aroma is mild, with notes of lactic sourness, it is a bit muddled. Flavour is modestly sour with a lactic quality to it throughout, and it gets a touch sharp at times. Sour cherry like acidity. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation. It is not unpleasant but I find it just never quite comes into itís own. Bottle at Campground Brewdown.

Bottle @ The Bruery. Pours cloudy orangish brown with thin head. Aroma is big tart sourness with a hint of fruitiness. Taste is clean brown malt, big citrusy sourness, and oaky dry finish. Big notes of grapefruit and mango. A bit thin bodied, but very nice.

Bottle shared at my birthday drinks. It pours murky deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is malt vinegar, date, prune, lemon, oak, vanilla and toasted coconut. The taste is tangy fruit...cherry, date, raisin, grape, earth, moderate acidity, some alcohol, wood, balsamic vinegar and lemonade with a dry, tangy finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Definitely smells like a Bruery sour for sure! Rather tasty stuff.

Bottle. Cheers to Paulo (I think) for supplying this. Deep red pour with a tiny off-white head. The nose is somewhat harsh. Musty red grape skin, mild balsamic vinegar. Sweet ribbon candy. A bit rough ní ready. The taste is delicate orchard fruit. Apricots. Acetic funk. Grape skin. A touch of rough acid. Soft carbonation, light body considering the ABV. Overall, fairly solid.
