Unclear medium amber colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, oxidide, tart - sour. wood, balsamico - vinegar. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and acidic and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, tart sour, wood, caramel, berry. candy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottled. A hazy dark brown beer with a a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, malt, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, malt, caramel, and wood, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of thgr81_us. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Dry and tart aroma, red wine and sour red berries. Medium body, heavy minerals, balsamico, red wine, quite some bitterness and a dry and somewhat astringent finish. Very interesting - and very good. 150313

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during Paul’s Birthday Celebration - London. Thanks to the birthday boy for this one. Pours murky amber with a light, off-white foam head. Nose holds lots of ripe, sweet and leathery fruits, wet wood, balsamic vinegar. Light sweet flavor, quite acetic and sour, more wet wood, mild bitter earth, semi-dry berries. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Biting sour finish, leathery fruits and berries, acetic burn, light warmth. Good.

Bottle @ Papsoe tasting. Hazy reddish amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, cherries and vinegar. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 150313

A: The pour is quite hazy and dark reddish-brown in color with a finger or two of off-white head.
S: Like with Marron Acidifie, the acetic character is rather in check. Plenty of red fruits and particularly lots of red wine aroma. Nice oak and a touch of leather and chocolate. The fruits don’t come through too much, but there is a bit of the guava.
T: A light caramel sweetness to it with just a hint of dates and plums. Red wine, red wine vinegar, and some tart guava. A nice oakiness to it and a little bit of tannins, maybe some leathery funk.
M: Medium in body with a medium carbonation.
O: Not sure if I liked this or Marron better. Very good either way.
