An English Barleywine aged in Bourbon barrels, Mash is an intense yet balanced beer with notes of burnt caramel, toasted bread, ripe pear, dried figs, vanilla, toasted coconut and finishes with oak tannin. This has become an instant favorite around the brewery due to its balance, subtle complexities and overwhelming deliciousness.

750 ml bottle, shared with Poisoneddwarf, thanks to Anderson01 for picking this up- Pours mostly clear amber orangeish with a thin off white head that reduces to a collar and some lace. Aroma is toasted coconut, barrel goodness, vanilla, oak, very much like a Firestone Walker barrel aged beer. The taste is vanilla, oak, bourbon, toffee, alcohol is definitely there, not overbearing but noticeable. Really tasty, one of the best Bruery beers i’ve had.

SlackerMads (2736) - DENMARK - MAY 17, 2016
Bottle. Hazy chestnut brown with a large beige head with good retention and lace. Bourbon, sugar, mild fruit/candy in the nose. Flavour has lots of bourbon; vanilla, coconut, white wood. Some honey and flowers also. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, heavy sweet with balanced bitterness and warming alcohol. Soft and flavourful with no rough edges. Good when in mood for bourbon beer.

750ml bottle pours with a crystal clear deep ruby red body that supports a full tan head of foam. The aroma offers up bourbon, sweet vanilla, molasses covered oak and some sweet smelling dark fruity esters in the background. The taste delivers a blend of prunes, dates, molasses, sweet bourbon and some vanilla. It gets more boozy and bourbony toward the finish but the sweet dark fruity esters hang in there too to help counter the booze. Pretty nice sipper that would have benefited from less barrel time.

Murky auburn color with a clingy foamy head. Big nose and flavor on with a complex blend: vanilla, dark fruits, tart notes and alcohol a gogo. Burns going down. Well done. This is a beer that stands on its own.
