Melange #3 is a blend of three bourbon barrel aged strong ales. White Oak Sap, a wheat wine, our Anniversary Series old ale and our imperial stout, Black Tuesday, join forces in this luxurious strong ale that links some of the best characteristics of each of the contributing beers. Chocolate, dark fruits, oaky vanilla and rich toffee-like character reach through the bourbon veneer for an intensely satisfying quaff.

750ml bottle from The Bruery. Murky reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is lots of boozy bourbon, dates, toffee, vanilla and some light cocoa. Flavor is lots of sweet caramel malt and dark fruit with evident barrel aging character, alcohol is well hidden in the taste. Medium body with mild carbonation and soft, creamy mouth feel. Amazing beer, very complex with lots of barrel presence. A bit sweet but balanced by the high ABV.

25oz bottle. I’ve had this on multiple occassions, but decided to review it for the 11 vintage. Pours a super dark hue, no color transparency, decent carbonation white head. Aromas are potent cherry, raspberry, chocolate, roasted malty deliciousness. Palate is balanced malty fruit up front with the cocoa and a nice tart chocolate through the mid to the finish. Crazy offering that actually works, I feel like it shouldn’t but I keep coming back for more. Excellent.

Big Thanks DAVE! Awesome gift from my buddy Dschiller. Have been looking forward to trying this for a very long time. Smells EPIC Vanilla, roast, malt some barrel but not an overload like I was expecting given the BT blend. Taste is SUPERB, geez really sweet and bourbon-y love this beer. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again the Bruery’s barrels and blends are golden, brilliant beer. Need A LOT more of this beer.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2012 750 ml bottle. A huge beer as people have mentioned. Pours a brown color with a small white head. The aroma is massive boozy notes with brown sugar and bourbon candies. The flavor is a sweet sugary mix of bourbon, brown sugar, something akin to a bigger than usual English Barley Wine but with a bit of a darker roasty base. Somewhat mixed feelings on this, on one hand it is way too sweet and big to really drink often. Yet, it also grows on you and is drinkable. Quite good really.
