Melange #3 is a blend of three bourbon barrel aged strong ales. White Oak Sap, a wheat wine, our Anniversary Series old ale and our imperial stout, Black Tuesday, join forces in this luxurious strong ale that links some of the best characteristics of each of the contributing beers. Chocolate, dark fruits, oaky vanilla and rich toffee-like character reach through the bourbon veneer for an intensely satisfying quaff.

Bottle shared by Tony, thanks my friend. Been meaning to try this for some time now. Super dark pour, thick and oily. Aroma was sweet with hints of bourbon, vanilla and slight fruit tartness. Flavor was a mix between chocolate and a tart fruit, somewhat confused me a little. A great beer but couldn’t drink more then one glass, a little too boozy.

25.4 oz bottle. A blend of my three top-rated Bruery offerings, how can i not like this. Deep brown with lacy tan froth after a stiff pour. Nose is chocolate pudding, whiskey, vanilla and raisin deepening to include dark and dried fruits. Medium body with a buzz; not as heavy as expected but packing some serious heat. Taste is caramel, dark chocolate, prunes, dates, wood, molasses and ... damn, running out of descriptors. A hot, messy treat. What can i say, i’m a malt whore.

Bottle from Bierkraft:   Two years old this is, and wow does it still have a lot of leg.   Cola in color, deep, thin to moderate sudsy beige head, spotty lacing.   Super strong Bourbon nose.   Otherwise graham cracker and toasted mashmallow.   This is one one strong Bourbon aroma.   Very strong Bourbon on the tongue, very strong.   Amazing that this has 2 years on it. Very warming Bourbonesque flavors on the tongue.   Did I mention Bourbon?   Perhaps this one should have waited another year or two as it is a bit boozy.   Full bodied for sure.   Fairly viscous.   Yea, this is a bruiser.   Soft chocolate notes round out the huge Bourbon background.   Lingering vanilla and graham cracker, oh, and smores too.   Good, but still a little brash.

Thanks to the kind soul who shared this with me at like 4am in athens oh. First beer of the day. All aboard the hype train. Choo choo. Amber pour with a short lived off white head and not much lace to speak of. Whoa holy shit this is one under attenuated cloying mess of a beer. I like more balance in my beer rather than a hot cloying diabetes bomb. Thx but no thx

(Bottle, party downstairs at Falling Rock) ruddy brown pour, minimal head. Nose of caramel, bourbon, oak, cherry and tobacco. Taste of caramel, vanilla, maple, cola, cherry, tastes just delicious! Very well carbonated, huge long duration of flavor. Nice!

750ml bottle into my Orval glass...Pours a dark brown, dark amber highlights. Light tan head rises about a finger, gone right away, light lacing...The aroma is so boring. I just drank the ba coton and I’m confused that its the same beer. Light vanilla, bourbon, alcohol. When the bottle says made with out anniversary ales I know they refer to the Coton...The taste is sweet alcohol. I can’t believe black tuesday is even in here. No stoutness anywhere. Mostly just an ale that was laced with vanilla and bourbon...Feel is light, not easy to drink, way to alcoholic. Big, huge, disappointment here.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Pulpy, murky orange-brown body, thin beige head. Strong nose of chocolate wafers, cocoa puffs, caramel, and wood. Super-sweet body, with Hershey’s chocolate syrup and potent alcohol, like a chocolate liqueur or a chocolate candy followed by a shot of liquor. There are also some caramel and vinous notes that escape the clutches of chocolate and alcohol. Sweet, challenging, and delicious.

A reddish brown ale with a thin light moka head. In aroma, a sublime dark fruits, molasses, cinnamon, just beautiful. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar, dark sugar, plums, molasses and warming alcohol. Rich and delicious. Shared with Orlando crew, Jan 6 2011.
