Melange #3 is a blend of three bourbon barrel aged strong ales. White Oak Sap, a wheat wine, our Anniversary Series old ale and our imperial stout, Black Tuesday, join forces in this luxurious strong ale that links some of the best characteristics of each of the contributing beers. Chocolate, dark fruits, oaky vanilla and rich toffee-like character reach through the bourbon veneer for an intensely satisfying quaff.

This beer is amazing. I have a new favorite. Can’t get enough of it. Exactly what I expect from The Bruery.

As always, The Bruery does an excellent job. This is but one of their fine gems! Although a bit strong, it packs a punch to your mouth! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Another damn perfect beer from placentia. Pours very dark with bourbon and complex malty character. No real head but enough carbonation to satisfy great mouthfeel with its touch richness. Finishes like blended malt scotch with toffee and light espresso.

I can not thank JohnQVegas enough for this beer. A: Pours a nice amberish shade of brown with a nice sized off white head. Nice retention and some lace left behind. S: Wow heaven in a bottle. Lots of chocolate, dark fruit, and sweet molasses. Notes of oak, vanilla, and a touch smoke from a chunk of burning oak. T: Nice mix of black cherry and dark fruit up front. Chocolate and oak can be picked up along with dark brown sugar and molasses. The level of oak and vanilla from the vanilla is absolutely perfect. Can not pick up a bit of booze despite this one packing a huge punk at over 15% ABV. M: Rather full in body, bold, rich, sweet, smooth, um yeah basically awesome. D: Would be on my short list of beers if I were on death row.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2012 This is one bad mother of a beer. Thanks big time to tpd975 for sharing. Pours dark cola brown with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, cola, sweet chocolate, spice, booze, dark fruit, molasses, cherries, booze, vanilla, wood, roast, perfection, magic, unicorn’s horn, and other ingredients of mythical proportions. Flavor is cherry, dark fruit, booze, roast mellowed by barrel, bourbon, vanilla, love, and just overall goodness. Incredibly complex; has to be one of my new favorite beers.

A nice whiskey/molasses aroma. Quite tasty. A thickish bdy with a somewhat alcoholic kick at the end, mixed with some whiskey noes. Fantastic.

2012 vintage in 750ml bottle. Pours a brown color with a surprising amount of carbonation for the strength. Aroma of plums. Flavor of plum and a touch of pepper. So smooth.

Tap at the Bruery. This is one of the best barrel aged beers I have ever had. Light bourbon, cocao, dates, raisons, caramel, vanilla....the list goes on. Many layers and complex. Nicely balanced sipping beer. Truely wonderful.

Yep, I too am in dept to THE tpd975 for this amazing treat. Out of the growler it poured deep amber with tan head. The aroma is big ole bold holy shit! yummy with sticky ripe smashed plums and dates to go along with the ripest dark cherries, oak, and oak dustiness and a bit of heat. Wow! The taste is thick and chewy to start with maple syrup goodness and oak moving quickly into aged dark fruit notes like stewed raisins, plums, figs, dates and dark red cherry fruit meat. It gets slick with sludgy sweet malts to midway as maple syrup and caramel take over into the finish. This is good. I hope they can make more.
