4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served from a bottle at the Stone 16th Anniversary Celebration. The appearance is a cloudy sediment filled dark brown. Sweet malts and oak bourbon fill the nose. The flavors enter with a healthy dose of sweet malts followed by bourbon, oak, molasses, and buttery vanilla. Nice full lightly creamy and smooth mouth. Real good beer, would like to retry without the bottom dregs.

Zu süßer Antrunk mit Vanillenoten. Gerade die Vanillenoten retten auch den Mittelteil, der sonst viel zu süß ist. Rumnoten, fruchtig, OK. 10/11/8/12/12/11

Bottle at Exira Beer Summit IV. Thanks to adnielsen for bringing. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Caramel, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla aromas. A lot of vanilla, sweet/sugary, bourbon, chocolate in the flavors.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
2012 vintage. Pours a very dark ruby brown. Short fizzy head. Just phenomenal. Deep, complex, rich, luscious. Despite the abv the alcohol presence is subtle, smooth bourbon. Dark fruit, raisin, port, caramel, chocolate... so much going on and so balanced and smooth its hard to pick things out while all I’m thinking is ’wow this is good’. Full body, Silky smooth, viscous, honey sweet. Pleasant alcohol warmth. Among the best beers I’ve had.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma is interesting - port wine, oak, vanilla, molasses. Flavor is a bit underwhelming because the alcohol overpowers everything else. Some notes of figs, chocolate, and oak. Too boozy for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Traded bottle. I was honestly afraid about the large ABV for this beer but it turned out to be not too bad. This really is a big beer, just like you mixed a barley wine with an imperial stout. There is a little booze burn through in the aroma and flavor. It does have a nice mix of sweet and rich malt. Pretty good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This ale is medium dark brown in color, with a really nice nose of a bourbon barrel aged barleywine. It’s really a gorgeous beer. I’m so surprised. It’s full, flavorful, and quite exceptional. The soft, smooth, and beautiful beer is thick, with bourbon. There’s just the right amount of everything in all aspects of the beer. Its complex, and very well-blended. I’m in love with this beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark cola with a huge pillowy three finger off white head.
Smell big coffee and caramel, complex, raisin, red fruit, toffee. Very nice.
Taste boozy raisin, bourbon vanilla, slightly tart cranberry, red fruit, oak. Getting a lot more of the White Oak and Anniversary beer out of the flavor.
Very sweet, but not cloying. Fuller bodied.
Pretty damn good if you like big sweet beers.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had it from the bottle. Looks really nice. Does not carbonate that much, but looks nice and dark, with a small head. Smells truly rich and awesome. However, the taste is not exceptional. Sweet and chocolate but a very heavy overwhelming alcohol taste. Still a very nice beer.

Overall, a solid well balanced strong ale with a definite barrel aged presence but doesnt overpower you. Outstanding.
