Melange #3 is a blend of three bourbon barrel aged strong ales. White Oak Sap, a wheat wine, our Anniversary Series old ale and our imperial stout, Black Tuesday, join forces in this luxurious strong ale that links some of the best characteristics of each of the contributing beers. Chocolate, dark fruits, oaky vanilla and rich toffee-like character reach through the bourbon veneer for an intensely satisfying quaff.

Thanks to SaucerSam for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a medium to dark brown color with some red highlights and a tan head. The aroma is extremely sweet. I get a ton of brown sugar and molasses notes, as well as some wood, maple and vanilla. Unfortunately the flavor is just as sweet as the aroma. I get a lot of dark fruit and oak, as well as some brown sugar. I get some maple notes as well. I know Black Tuesday is a part of the blend but I get no roasted malt or chocolate notes. Very boozy. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel and low carbonation. I am very glad I got to try this one, but it was way too sweet and messy for my liking. Still, definitely a unique brew.

Bottleshare thanks to homer321. Aroma is lots of sugar and boost. Pours a ruby red color, minimal head. Taste is strong, really sweet, but still tasty. Lingers a but on my tongue. This is a certain sharer.

Bottle. Nose is boozy caramel sugar and vanilla. Poured deep red to brown. Small light brown head. Taste is very sweet and boozy. Could use something to balance the sweetness. Good but glad I could share this was others.

Unclear deep amber color with a tan head. Vinous, bready and raisin aroma. Full body. A bit sweet and a moderate bitterness. Well the bitterness maybe drowns in the sweetness. Fruity, raisins, vanilla and oak in the flavor. Powerful ale. Also some alcohol coming up. Melange is butter in Norway. So I was a bit disappointed. Not much butter here. Well I do not like butter in beer anyway. Lovely balance at 15%!

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2014 Bottle courtesy of marsiblursi. Pours dark brown with a small offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving some small spotty trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and boozy with toasted malts, caramel, toffee, maple syrup, charred wood, alcohol, figs, raisins, glue and hints of paint thinner. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, malty and boozy with toasted malts, caramel, toffee, raisins in rum, prunes, figs, hay, charred wood, vanilla, brandy, madeira wine, alcohol and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is round, sticky sweet, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter, malty and boozy with toasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, raisins in rum, figs, dates, prunes, hay, soil and alcohol. Way too sweet and boozy but has some redeeming complexity that would make me love to sip on this again in the future.

Bottle. Murky dark copper-brown color with very little head. Aroma is rich and awesome. Toffee, caramel, cherries, dates, licorice, vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, and burnt brown sugar. Tastes great too. Big barrel influence without being too hot or boozy. All the aromas come through balanced well. Moderate to strong sweetness is toned down by the booze. Syrupy mouthfeel. Full body. Probably my favorite Bruery beer so far.
