Bottle thanks to Chad. Pours a cloudy brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, wood, vanilla, maple. Medium mouth, rich malt, vanilla, roast, maple, hides alcohol well, really good.

Bottle. An odd color -- a grayish hazy tan that coalesces to hazy copper in the glass. One finger of fuzzy tan head pops and fizzles with gusto. Very sweet aroma. Tons of bourbon, maple, cherry, vanilla and a bit of coffee bean. The flavor is so, so, so sweet. Like maple syrup plus rum plus orange juice plus simple syrup plus vanilla.I had high hopes for this one, but it’s just too cloying. Good for getting drunk and not much else.

Bottle shared by a friend. Hazy brown pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and booze. Malty and caramelly flavor with light apple and some booze before a sweet vanilla finish. Didn’t pick up on the coffee initially due to the other flavors dominating.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours murky and brown with no head. The aroma is a mélange of caramel, toffee, mocha and vanilla. Full-bodied with modest carbonation. Like the aroma, the lush flavor is all about mocha, vanilla and toffee followed by a comforting, boozy warmth that lingers long after each sip. World class blend!

Draft at Ginger Man. Pours orange amber with an off white head. Coffee and oak, with lighter chocolate notes, hints of smoked malts, espresso, and a big sweet coffee finish. Pretty good.

Draft at Gingerman during the Bruery tap takeover event with Chris and Streets. Pours a deep body with thin lacing. Aroma is vanilla, bourbon, maple, oak and sugar. Mouthfeel is rich with notes of vanilla, oak, light bourbon, sugar, maple, molasses and banana cream pie. Nice.

On draft at Snallygaster 2014 in D.C. Pours a hazy dark copper with an ecru head. Aroma of vanilla and oak. Flavors of dark cherries, vanilla and oak. Smooth slightly sweet finish.

Pretty nice. Pours orange without much head or lacing. Some caramel. Some honey. Pretty sweet and I can see the barley wine influences here. Didn’t get much of the coffee though. A decent beer from what looks from the ingredient list like it could have easily train wrecked. Tap at Snallygaster.
