750ml bottle. Pours a bright clear golden yellow with a massive fluffy white head that recedes a bit but leaves a hefty clump of foam in the middle fed by bubbles from the bottom. The aroma starts with some juicy citrus with oranges and tangerines. There is a hefty Belgian yeast character as well with some light spiciness. The Brett is present but subtle. The taste has a bit more brett than the aroma, especially in the finish where there is a lingering funk. The Belgian yeast is prominent with some spices and fruity esters. The fruit is also present in the finish with a citrus bitterness. The mouthfeel is highly carbonation, almost effervescent, and extremely active on the tongue. This is an interesting iteration on Mischief but the brett really doesn’t add much for me and I actually prefer the base beer to this one.

25oz bottle. Shared last night at the kick off to Christmas party. Pours a really nice bright golden hue, big high carbonated white head. Aromas are very lively, belgian yeasts, citrus, a bit zesty and white pepper, with a slight hint of the brett. Palate is really well put together spice up front, with a highly carbonated zesty citrus mid palate and dry finish. The brett is very light in the mid to finish. I’m still confused as to what this will do over time, or if it should even be aged. Very well done.

JCB (3811) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 24, 2011
750ml shared by emacgee - thanks, Ethan! Vibrant gold pour with a mild sedimental cloudiness and a big rocky head. Nose is semi-sweet, semi-tart, with a mild spiciness that suggests saison. Prickly body, a touch of heat on the palate. Taste is sort of grainy, a bit of young brett, and some more saison impressions. Not sure it has an identity, and not sure it’s an improvement on the base, but it was decent.

LIVEFAST (62) - Mount Misery, Valley Forge, - NOV 22, 2011
750mL shared with friends, poured into a Tilquin geuze tumbler. Liquid yellow-gold in color with a large head that settles down to a cm of soapy suds. Nose is light funk, white grapes, and leafy, fruity hops. Alcohol heat distracts the overall taste, which is accompanied by light funk, fruity/floral hops, and Belgian esters. I’d like to visit again in a few months to see if the alcohol heat fades from the overall taste.

This beer pours with a huge head, nearly four fingers. The aroma is slightly funky but not as much as I was expecting, especially with a name like the beer has. The beer has a great belgian taste but the hops make the beer seem rather astringent. Decent beer overall

Hophead22 (2749) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - NOV 5, 2011
750ml bottle. Rating #50. Very clear pour, golden with a touch of amber and a pretty big white head that left some nice lacing. Funky with some light fruitiness. Acidic, light funk and it has a mild aftertaste, very light on the tongue. Nice beer. (1985)

Pours hazy yellow with a nice white head. Has a nice floral aroma with hints of lemon, brett and belgian yeast. Flavor is lacking in this one. Hints of brett(could use more), spicy yeast, lemon and bready malts. Pretty big let down.

Bottle, cheers to emacgee. Pours hazy bright golden with decent white head. Nose is sweet, pineapple and some grassy. Lemony Brett and dry yeast. Smells better than it tastes.

Pours a bright soft lemon rind yellow with a profuse white head. Nice and dry with some resinous hop character and peppery notes. Very dry and peppery with lots of citrus zest and hop resin. Nice fl carbonation and dry finish.

Bottle thanks to Owen. POurs golden straw with dense brilliant white head. Light aromas of biscuity malt, yeast, a little lemon zest and grassy hops. No brett character. Flavours are much the same. Biscuity malt with a slightly bitter lemony dry finish. Medium mouthfeel.
