750, capped. Pours a slightly hazy burnished medium gold with a loose and somewhat sudsy white head. Decent eggy lace scattered around the sides of the glass. Perfumey, estery nose, bubblegum and cloves. A nice spicy sweet mix, smells bracing and refreshing. Creamy medium body with fizzy carb that’s bordering on the prickly. Toasty crackers on the mid-palate, but mostly tons of spice and bubble gum, maybe a bit of watermelon too. Very complex, drinkable, and refreshing. Not super hoppy, not like the label would suggest, though there are certainly little sparks of bitterness and herbal notes mixed in, and it’s all balanced and coherent. But this one’s really about a yeasty complexity for my money.

A tribute to a hard day’s work over and an upcoming visit to The Bruery. Pours a very cloudy honey amber with a pillowy white head. Sweet, honey citrus hops on the nose, with a bit of yeastiness - very aromatic. Flavor has a great punch, but is still refreshingly mild - gently bitter hops with a mild sweetness. Great balance in here, with the effervescence of a good Belgian. Really nice.

22oz bottle in a mug. Aroma of nice Belgian yeast with some hoppy undertones. Flavor of the yeast and some hops. Hops strong during the finish. Full bodied. A really good beer, worth trying.

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, rocky, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs, resin), with notes of plastic, sawdust, and metal, light notes of cotton candy, lemon zest, acetone, and celery. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium to full body, syrupy/velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. I gotta be honest, it’s downright unpleasant, almost repulsive. Lots of off notes in the nose, and the aftertaste is just as dirty. This is almost impossible to drink. There are some nice notes here and there, but they’re nearly enveloped by the flaws. Looks great, but it’s a drain pour.

Hazy, pale, gold with big, flotsam, white head / Bretty, dry, nose of hops and orchard fruit / Medium body, dry, creamy, and slightly sour, with good balance and lightly bitter finish / Astringent flavors of apple, hay, resin, lemon, coriander, oak, and brett / Very nice in an extremely dry style.

Draft – Monk’s Café. Hazed gold, thick white foamy head. Lemony-citrus aromas warm to undercurrents of candied pear and white peppery yeast tones throughout. Peppered-citrus and floral-like flavors round with a soft fruity yeast backbone. Medium to full bodied, prickly carbonation, fruity, bittersweet finish. A very well done American / Belgian IPA…
