Tap at Verdugo. I am going to assume that this wasn’t #1 or #2. This is one of the two best I have had from them. Nose is clean with light grass, a very nice European yeast character and smooth, cereal-like malt. Golden orange color with a nice fluffy head. Flavor is great and the reason I would drink this anytime. More cereal with nice clean hops, really big taste because of the balance. Super refreshing.

Big lemon honey nose, some biscuit, slight pine. Deep Gold, fluffy head. sweet honey biscuit with a tart and big hop bitter presence--nicely balanced. Big carbonation, medium body, slight funky leather citrus finish, lots of alcohol warmth. Great beer, flavors are huge but controlled well. This will age nicely.

Well, the PHX crew had this so I drank my bottle alone. ;)
Pours a hazy golden with a large fluffy white head. Aroma is hops, grass, malt, fruits, yeasts. Flavor is fruity, yeasty, wheat, grass, a good dose of hop bitterness, very balanced, wow this is really fantastic.

Looks like bottled grapefruit juice when it’s poured--cloudy and almost opaque. Tangerine aromas. Smooth on palate, grapefruit acidity but well integrated, not like a lot of "lip puckering" bitter beers. Extremely refreshing, this is a delicious, spring beer.

750mL Pours a gorgeous hazy brownish yellow with yeast chunks and a thick, yet thin white head that leaves just insane lacing down the Westvleteren glass. Nose on this is absurd: beautiful fresh West Coast hops, dank weed, pineapple juice, Malibu rum. Whoa. In the body, the 8.5% is nice and well balanced- not boozy- and gives some depth to a beer not overwhelmed by Belgian candi sugar (cough cough Duvel). There is some mild tartness and citrus in the flavor too. Would pair well with fish- grouper maybe. Just really was impressive. A big surprise.

Sampled from the bottle. It pours golden orange with a thick snow white head. It looks a little like yellow unfiltered grapefruit juice. The aroma is very hoppy with citrus, pine, and florals. The flavor is the same, very hoppy with a big citrusy grapefruit punch. The Belgian yeast adds some nice character to it. I don’t usually like hopped up, Americanized Belgian ales, but this one is done extremely well.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 kahns (4) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - APR 17, 2010 does not count
Appearance: Poured into a New Belgium snifter. Pure white cramy 1/2 inch head. Light orange in color. Killer lacing.
Smell: Citrus, caramel, pinecone, dried apricot
Taste: Citrusy hops, extremely faint anise, very small yeast sourness at finish but overall citrus bitterness. Beautiful.
Mouthfeel: Dry, creamy bottle conditioned carbonation, effervescent on the tongue. Creamy foam on the cheeks at the finish. Piney citrus sticks with you.
Overall: A lovely hybrid of a Belgian golden ale and an American IPA. A match make in beer heaven.
Purchased at Kahns for $9.99

bottle kindly shared by JorisPPattyn at the epic beer fest - pours murcky yellow gold. Aroma of panna cotta, cinnamon, citrus, vanilla and lactose. Very well balanced sour-sweet-bitterness with a taste of elderblossom. Special beer.
