Yes, this tastes like a really, really rich glass of cafe mocha. If you were wondering. The flavors are on point but as usual it’s a bit too sweet and hard to drink for this to be anywhere near a top-shelf BA stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750, capped. Thanks J! Pours a murky jet black with a creamy burnt tan head. Huge sweet nose, alcohol fumes, dense cocoa, super sweet. Thick sticky body. Your lips stick together after a couple sips. Dense dark cocoa, semi sweet baking chocolate, thick roasty malts on the mid palate. Long sweet finish.

Tasted at a bottle share in a hotel room after the most recent Jackie-O’s bottle release. Chocolate Rain and Mocha Wednesday in one night, not bad... Looks unimpressive again, no head or lace, but what are ya gonna do? Near-black color. Lots of sweetness, and milk chocolate in the nose. Then a very nice amount of coffee. Cookie dough. Taste has a light to moderate alcohol burn, big sweetness, mild bitterness. Bigger body. Good chewiness. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. Dry finish. Pretty damn nice. A lot of sweetness though. Bit of licorice. Too much sugar for me. Doesn’t hide alcohol nearly as well as, say, Uncle Jacob’s does... So much malty sweetness. Love the mocha flavor that is there, but the big malty sweetness is not well-balanced and impossible to ignore. Not as mystical of a flavor as the label suggests.

Bottle, thanks to Mac, tasted on 01/31/2014. Pours black, small white head fades to a few wisps on the surface. Aroma is fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla waffles, bourbon edge. Taste is intense espresso, dark roast, vanilla wafer, booze, heavy bourbon in the aftertaste. Thick body, smooth, boozy but not over the top. Delicious, reminiscent of Mornin Delight for me, though obviously much heavier.

Big thanks to DocJ007 for sharing this one with us at last nights impromptu tasting.
A - Pours pitch black with a bit of filmy tan head, quickly dissipating down to nothing at all, leaving no lace what so ever on the sides of the glass. Completely lifeless for the most part.
S - Smells of gooey fudge brownies, smooth espresso coffee, vanilla, oak, dark roasted malt and warming bourbon. Booze is ever present but more hidden than some of the other variants.
T - Starts off with a quick dose of sugary sweetness, mainly the brownie batter and vanilla, quickly being joined by the smooth coffee roast and dark malts finally being joined by the oak and bourbon warmth. Finish is sweet roast with some light booze burn, lingering long after the finish.
M - Heavy body with moderate to low carbonation. Huge, syrupy sweet feel with a mild booze burn at the end of each sip. Again the booze seems to be more hidden than in past variants.
O - This might be my favorite of the variants. It has a great mix of flavors and the booze is still there but not over the top like in the others. I would love to see how this one develops in a few years, it could end up being really special.

25/II/14 - 75cl bottle as "Mocha Wednesday" @ De Hopduvel (Gent) - BB: n/a (2014-212) Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: ashes, dusty, caramel, dried fruits, coffee, charcoal, coffee grit. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: coffee, coffee, and more coffee with lots of sugar, more coffee again, bit sour, acidity actually prickling on the tongue, caramel, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: lots of coffee again, dark chocolate, mocha, some fudge, cocoa powder. Yeah, I don’t really like coffee.
