COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Horchata is a traditional, sweet, milky drink originating in Spain and Latin America that has become quite popular in Southern California, particularly with Mexican cuisine. Our take on the traditionally non-alcoholic drink is a blonde ale brewed with a heavy dosing of rice, cinnamon and fresh vanilla beans along with lactose for a litle extra creamy character. If you didnít know better, youíd think it was carbonated horchata.

Very easy drinking 7% beer. It's pleasantly milky with strong notes of cinnamon and vanilla. It's a bit sweet, but I think that's a good thing. I will definitely buy this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2015 batch. 750 ml into a tulip. Pours a pale clear orange with minimal white lacing. Nose is big cinnamon and vanilla with a lactose/malty sweetness. Very odd and desert like. Taste is vanilla and spices followed by a sort of graininess and sweetness. I can swear I taste sweet rice, hell this tastes spot on like Kozy Shack rice pudding. I canít see this working for everyone. It really does taste like a horchata minus the body and texture, although itís not exactly a thin beer. Itís really weird, but kind of awesome. Iím really enjoying this one.

Bottle pours clear dark amber with frothy white head. Odd aroma, sweet with c=rice and what seemed like corn. Flavor sweet with rice , vanilla, cinnamon. Sweet and syrupy finish . Palate a tad sticky. just OK, glad I didnít buy more.

Bottle... Pours hazy and deeply golden with a small, white head thatís gone faster than you can say ďquick.Ē This smells just like cream soda. ínuff said there. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. Tastes like cream soda too - with a hint of balancing, nondescript bitterness. Lengthy, sticky-sweet finish. I like cream soda. I like this too. Surprisingly, this isnít cloying. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

Bottle shared at Darkness day. Pours dark golden with almost no head. Smells of sweet and minty. Taste of mint as well. Interesting flavor...pretty good.

750ml bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. Hazy orange color, with fine particles floating in the body. Thin off-white head, loose lace. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp, soft lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Awesome vanilla, cocoa, bready malt. Mild cinnamon, but itís in-check. Moderate sweet taste, lightly spicy. Tasty stuff. Good to sip. More dry finish, not too sweet. Awesome, cool stuff. Great mexican-style blond ale.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy dark golden color with a moderate frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sweet, vanilla and spice aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice sweet flavor with a smooth sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid refreshing brew.

750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have a sweet malty character, smooth, some vanilla, cinnamon spices, creamy, almost soda like, interesting brew, I am apparently liking this better than most.

"i like the bread pudding reference by Stoutlover, though I wouldnít have been able to express that myself. i will admit to at first being let down that this did not taste as much like horchata as Iíd hoped. Horchata isnít this sweet (ever, that Iíve tried) and doesnít have such a strong vanilla presence. That said, once I got past what it didnít taste like, I really liked it. Both for itís uniqueness, and itís delicious sweet but not cloying natural vanilla flavor and aroma. The cinnamon makes itís appearance on the back end and in your throat. Cool beer Iíd get again if I could."
