| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Pours pale yellow w/ a tall head that lingers. Strong aromatics at play here. I smell a fleshy spice essence that reminds me of some joint relief ointment I used to use after pitching all night. Medium nectar w/ good carbonation. Spicy citrus rind flavors dominate w/ corriander, banana, and anglefood cake picking up the rear. It’s very dry on the tongue through to the finish. Heavy spice lingers. This beer is out of whack. yemenmocha (354), Glendale, Arizona, USA

Plenty of yeast to make this thing appetizing in appearance. Nose is ripe with citrus and esters, especially lemon/orange. Palate offers a pleasing sourness with the citrus fruit, yeasty flavors, and soft malt component. Light bodied and easy drinking. Would go well with breakfast. kiefdog (1586), Tampa, Florida, USA

Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with a strong note of lavender, lesser notes of lemon/lime zest, sage, coriander.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation.
It’s definitely over the top with lavender...smells pretty much like the bubble bath I keep on hand. It’s an American brewery, so you’re already going into it expecting some aspect might be rather excessive. But, better so with lavender than coriander IMHO (I like both but too much coriander becomes unpleasant), so...overall it’s still relatively attractive in the nose thanks to some other nifty aspects in the background. Clean, well-balanced flavor profile. A bit too fizzy/prickly in the mouthfeel department, but overall this is a decent enough wit that simply needs more restraint in the lavender department so the other characters can shine through. I just noticed the bottle label says "a hint of lavender". Haha. rustychiles (1026), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Pours a hazy light golden color with a large white champagne like head. Aroma is spices, citrus, yeasts, coriander and nutmeg. Flavor is wheat, yeasts, a healthy dose of nutmeg and cinnamon, bread, malt, coriander. Fizzy prickly mouthfeel and spices linger in the finish. The spices are a bit over the top for me in this one and mask many of the the other positive characteristics in this beer. Stll pretty good though. nightrider (373), encinitas, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2009 Clear golden pour from a 750 ml. bottle. Nice aromas of lemon, yeast, and orange. Prickly carbonation with a light body. Pleasant refreshing flavors with a touch of earthy spice. Finish thins out quickly with a low level of complexity. Tasty for this light style beer. yobdoog (1431), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 24, 2009 Pours cloudy golden with a small fizzy white head. Overpowering fruity and spicy aroma. With mango and apple cider, orange zest, coriander, champagne like yeast, slight lemon zest, and a bit of white pepper. Flavor follows the aroma quite well with some other undetermined spices, but with a really pleasant yeasty/fruity character throughout, and a bit of the white pepper in the finish. Palate is medium, nicely carbonated with a lasting finish, and a pleasant mouth-feel. Solid and balanced, probably the most interesting wit I’ve had to date.
