Commercial Description:
Orchard White is our Belgian-style witbier. We brew it with unmalted flaked wheat, oats, malted barley, corriander, orange peel, and lavender. This is a thirst-quenching beer that will be a year-round offering.

Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a light golden color with a huge rocky head. Aromas is of lots of spice, mainly coriander and pepper, slight fruit and yeast, and when it warms up a bit, that lavender they speak of is there. Taste is clean with yeast, slight coriander, pepper and a touch of some floral notes and slight citrus tartness. Overall a well done wit, a style for me that when well done still is only just ok.

Bottle from Belmont in Dayton. Very spicy beer, as seems to be the trend with The Bruery. Aroma is heavily dominated by ginger and corriander. Flavor is light, citrusy, dry, and a bit tart. A good Belgian White.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy pale gold with a thick, but quickly dissipating white head. Aroma reminded me of a pilsner with a bit of tart cherries. Flavor was had a clear wheat note with tart cherries and flora notes underlying.

(Rating #2687)

Hazy golden yellow pour with a huge pillow of white froth. Aroma is citrus, floral lavender, clove, sweet oats and a dryish wheat malt. Some yeasty dough follows more subtly. Flavor is tart, citrusy, and dry with some soft lavender and clove notes as noted in the nose. Yeast character is unique and excellent with some biscuit notes coming through. Palate is full for the style and remains effervescent throughout, leaving a dry but smoothly coating finish. Amazing example of the style.

Probably the best WItbier I’ve ever had. Aroma is fruity, musty and a little funky. Pours cloudy white golden with white head that dissipates immediately. The carbonation lightly stings my tongue, and leaves with a slightly malty residue. Finish is clean, as is this beer.

From a bomber purchased in Littleton, CO. Aroma- Very phenolic/spicy, lavender is present. Some light noble hop aroma. Appearance- Pale straw in color, cloudy. Rocky, thick white head. Flavor- Very herbal, low sweetness, coriander is strong, alcohol is discernable. Low sourness, Low Bitterness. Very tart, but not sour if that makes any sense. Lavender is light, but discernable. Palate- Very Dry, but with a big mouthfeel, which must come from the oats. Very effervescent, high in carbonation. Overall- It’s herbal taste and aroma is great, very refreshing. The big body detracts from the refreshment slightly. The lack of sweetness makes it a little lacking. I don’t want a very sweet beer, but just a little more would be fine. I think that this would be a great beer to share with friends on a summer evening! Also, I’ve brewed with lavender, and can definately percieve it in this beer, but in a small ammount.

Bottled sample via Boutip. Clear gold in colour with moderate carbonation. Loads of spices upfront, with elements of lavender, citrus, cardamom, and cinnamon, along with a bit of wheat malt. The spices really dominate the palate as well, with a bit of ginger-like heat to go along with the pale and wheat malts. Medium bodied, and a bit quick finishing. I found the spices to be a little too over the top (although the lavender was a nice touch). I would have prefered a bit more citrus and wheat to balance things out. Not bad overall.
