The aroma picked up sweet pale and honey malts accented by white pepper, earth, and lavender.. citrus and ginger overtones.. spicy and intriguing. The flavor had dry bready and honey character at the core surrounded by plenty of spices and tart wheat (orange zest, floral, and peppery notes really struck here).. the prevalence of the spices plus tartness from wheat and oranges became a bit too assertive. Medium-bodied with scratchy carbonation on the palate.. balance was a bit skewed, but overall it was a decent brew. DeeBee21 (45), NH, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 slightly hazy, pale yellow with a greenish tint pour. thin fizzy head lots of bubbles. Definitely get lots of the floral lavender in the nose, little bit of some spice with underlying dried fruit sweetness.Lots and lots of fizz at the front almost overpowering. Flavor is quite interesting not sure I can pin point it entirely, but lots of the orange peal and floral notes coming out. Some vanilla and ginger and spice as the yeast component comes through, leaves a the sweet citrus on the tongue. Not what I expected in a witbier but pretty tasty Jblauvs (549), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Yellow pour with a large frothy white head. Aroma is zesty with lavender, lemon, flowery, earthy malts and some wheat. Flavor is light and crisp, a bit spicey with a certain wheat quality. minerally and savory. A unique and, I think, pleasant experience. Much more interesting and complex then witbiers that shove orange peel and lemon zest down your throat. keidjxz (61), Irvine, California, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Maybe an acquired taste but I couldn’t get past the very strong lavender aroma. It was more enjoyable when I didn’t smell it but just tasted it. It also had and incredibly large head that just made the unpleasant aroma even stronger. KyotoLefty (1400), Kyoto, Japan

Medium gold color. Spicy, citrus aroma, rather light malt flavor, slightly medicinal, with minerals and sage. Watery, thin, medicinal and off. Nearly undrinkable.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a nice, thick white head. Aroma is sweet, citrus, spices, bread, floral to the max. Flavor is clove, coriander, yeasty bread, wheat, malts, and overall goodness. As the beer is consumed, there is quite a bit of lacing. Pretty refreshing at 5.7 percent. talon1117 (620), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Pours a hazy, straw color with a full, brilliant white, creamy, rocky head which is somewhat lasting but leaves only little bits of lace rings. Nose is pleasant but not exceptional; notes of lavender are apparent, very floral, bread and hay notes, some tart wheat citrus, coriander, and maybe some peach. Flavor is somewhat different but still pleasant; lots of lavender, vanilla, stewed apples, light tart wheat citrus notes, light bread, and some ginger. Palate is medium to full, chewy, creamy, and lively. Finish is mostly sweet and a little acidic with coriander moving in to match vanilla, tart lemons and wheat, and a bit of ginger and lavender lingering. It is one of the better wits out there but something about the lavender just did not sit well with me. I usually like a spicier wit but the added complexity and uniqueness made up for it. A nice palate but not necessarily a drinkable beer. Good but not great. boFNjackson (1269), Portland, Oregon, USA
