Commercial Description:
Orchard White is our Belgian-style witbier. We brew it with unmalted flaked wheat, oats, malted barley, corriander, orange peel, and lavender. This is a thirst-quenching beer that will be a year-round offering.

Wow. Pours a hazy yet appealing dull yellow with a billowing but completly disappearing snow white head. Complex, layered nose with plenty of oats, flowers, and a bit off a spice blend. The wheat and oat lead the way for flavor as well. The lavendar hits a bit harder as it warms. Substantial, but quaffable body and sprite mouthfeel. Dry, refreshing finish. Outstanding all around.

Pours a deep cloudy gold with a massive creamy head. The aroma is filled with orange rind and flowers like violets (lavander it would appear, as I read the description!) Flavor is comparatively light with a refreshing twinge of tartness on the finish. Pretty nice.

Bottle: Poured a hazy beige/orangey color ale with a super large pure white foamy head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of coriander and orange peel is quite dominant with loads of wheat also easily noticeable. Taste is also dominated by some coriander and orange peel with light bubblegum ester and a strong wheat malt body. Body is full with lower then usual filtration and perfect carbonation. Very well done and one of the best wit I had the chance to try.

750 ml. bottle. Shared with Gabe. Pours a large white head, of good duration, over a cloudy yellow (SRM 10) body.....nose is apple, pineapple, bit of pear, bit of bread.....taste is initially very much yeast and bread, with pear, apple, coriander coming in later.....mouth feel is light, carbonation very high (it is bottle conditioned). This would not be good on a cold winters night, however on this summer day, a different story.

Sampled at the brewery originally, and currently by bottle. Pours like Duvel - extreme carbonation out of the bottle. Pours very light pils color with that explosive white creme head. Aroma is very soft - some orange, some lavendar, and some Belgian spiciness. Taste is reminiscent of Duvel as well, albeit much less phenolic and dry. Lots of light orange/pear/peach notes, lavendar really comes in on the palate along with the wheat and oats. Some pepper on the back of the toungue. I let this beer calm down in the bottle for ~8 months, as I found it waaaaaay too spicy fresh (like a potpourri bomb). This was a completely different beer.

On tap. Cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma of coriander and lavender. Medium body with sweet citrus, some yeast and again distinct coriander notes. Some phenols come through in the finish. 060709

Poured a hazy yellow. Some citrus, floral hops, orange peel, oranges, lemons, lavender, bread and grain. Flavors much the same, finishes very dry.
