paiste2002 (148), Saugus, California, USA Oct 26, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours a beautiful hazy yellow with a huge white head that falls off to a very nice lace. Aroma is of spice, orange, floral, malt. Flavor is crisp and very refreshing, spicy, orange, coriander, oats, grassy, hops. Spicy grassy bitter finish. This one fine beer, very enjoyable. Wulfstan (509), California, USA May 13, 2008 Having tried this on tap, I can say that this is absolutely one of my new favourite witbiers. It’s hazy gold with a nice, lasting white head. It is very juicy with citursd and other juice and without the almost-chemically, sharp citrus-oil character that many wheat beers have. The herbs are wonderfully handled, adding light hints and subtle complexity without being obviously present, as is too often the case. They add constant light interest. It starts sweeter then gets more crips with a light tartness. Boutip (2327), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 26, 2009 Bottle: Poured a hazy beige/orangey color ale with a super large pure white foamy head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of coriander and orange peel is quite dominant with loads of wheat also easily noticeable. Taste is also dominated by some coriander and orange peel with light bubblegum ester and a strong wheat malt body. Body is full with lower then usual filtration and perfect carbonation. Very well done and one of the best wit I had the chance to try. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Feb 28, 2009 Tap at Rattle N Hum. Deep yellow beer with a thin white head. Aroma is loaded with rich lemon peel and sweet lavender character. Lots of rich but light spiciness as well. the yeast is very expressive with a strongly spicy wheatiness. Soft and floral with a very fresh lavender and minty aroma. Flavour shows more of the typical lemon/coriander than the aroma does, but the mix of lavender and wit yeast still works very well. It’s very similar on the aroma side to the imperial Orchard but it has a fuller and richer body. Man, this stuff is delicious. tjthresh (1735), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jul 30, 2009 Wow. Pours a hazy yet appealing dull yellow with a billowing but completly disappearing snow white head. Complex, layered nose with plenty of oats, flowers, and a bit off a spice blend. The wheat and oat lead the way for flavor as well. The lavendar hits a bit harder as it warms. Substantial, but quaffable body and sprite mouthfeel. Dry, refreshing finish. Outstanding all around. Dunk (35), SoCal, USA Apr 19, 2008 Thanks to Patrick for sharing a few "pre-release" bottles. Bottled conditioned and pours a bit cloudy as expected with nice head. Aroma is refreshing flowery, citrus, spices balanced with bready malts and appropriately funky yeast notes. Lavender blends in ever so subtly. Flavor is likewise a well orchestrated presentation of spices, citrus, hint of lavender supported by a lightly complex backbone of malts, oats, crisp wheat. Refreshing - very well balanced finish. Unique and outstanding Wit! jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Mar 11, 2009 Bottle split with PWN3D. Pours hazy orange. Aroma is spicy and weird - bready too. Taste is citrus, wheat, lavender of course, and some strange spice. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Feb 7, 2009 On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. Hazy straw color with filmy off-white lacing. Aroma of banana pith, vanilla, eggnog, wheat, and a touch of citric tartness. Flavor is similar to the aroma, with a slight dry bitterness in the finish. Body is between medium and light, pretty much perfect for the flavor profile which is very fulfilling.
