Dark red-brown with whispy, tan head (barrel-aged) / Tart nose of dark cherry, oak, light brett / Light to medium body, very tart, some sweetness, nice balance with very light bitterness on the finish / Stylish, earthy flavor of sour dark cherry, red wine vinegar, leather, lemon, oak, light horseblanket / Not super complex, but very elegant and balanced.

Bottle courtesy Sam. Pours a cloudy murky mahogany with a frothy tan head. Aroma is green apples with brown sugar and caramel, similar to La Folie. Flavor is very oaky and tart with apple pie, crabapple skins, a bit of cherry juice, jammy red wine. 7.5% alcohol gives it a warming sensation. Mouthfeel is kind of sticky, despite the sufficient carbonation.

bottle thanks iowaherkeye poured for my birthday afternoon beer! color is a brown orange with nice lively carbonation on the pour and a light coating of dark tan head that fell to a ring on the glass. aroma has medium sourness, cherry, sweet red grape, nice earthy yeast, light wood, and a little leather. mouth feel coats well with carbonation present. flavor gets a bit more tart, medium acidity, dry earthy yeast, dark grape skin, a poke of pear sweetness, and a finish that ends dry and sticks to the tongue for a minute. definitely got better once it had a bit to open up. really nice base American Flemish red that shines due to the barrel aging being on the more gentle side flavor wise.

750 ml bottle; thanks to grownfool for sharing; pours reddish brown with a little purple and thin tan head; big time grape skins with mild tartness and almost chewy texture; some leathery qualities to this one as well; sticky dry with a little fizziness; lots of fruit, almost red wine flavor from the grape skins; cherries and grape skins with some leathery chocolate and vanilla; damn good stuff

Bottle shared by DalzAle thanks Greg! Pours red brown with a quick khaki head that fades to nothing. Aroma is tart leather cherries and wood. Taste is all of the above with more wood and somewhat smooth tartness and a little lactic. Palate is slick and chalky drying finish. Solid sour!

Tasted on 5/22/11 from a capped 750mL bottle sent to me in a trade, this one has been sitting in the cellar for a little over a year at this point. Pours cloudy dark amber with a thick beige head that slowly recedes to nothing more than a thin collar of lace. The nose is sour and tart with just a hint of funk, along with balsamic vinegar, some cinnamon and vanilla wood influence, and tart red cherries. The flavor is tart and sour with the tart cherry flavor much more prominent and the balsamic flavor more muted along with the cinnamon and oak presence and some tart lemon. The body is medium and oily with lively (but not stinging at all) carbonation and a long tart, sour cherry, and tannic oak finish.

Dark brown, slightly reddish color and pours with a thick tan head. A thin layer of foam remains on top until the last drop. The aroma shows fresh cherries, funky oak, wild berries and plums. Very enjoyable brew. Crisp and refreshing while still packing a nice sour punch. Not intense at all or massively tart but very well balanced. A tasty mix of flavors; grapes, green apple, oak, cherry, a bit of funk, mild vinegar. Great stuff. Love the drinkability. I really didn’t think it was going to be this good.

Bottle. Reddish brown with a thin white head. Nose and flavour of tart cherry, citrus, wood and some funky character. Pleasant mouthfeel with the sourness lingering for some time. A nice interpretation.
