nbutler11 (727), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Nov 2, 2009 Gift from a friend near Fullerton. Reminds me a lot of Kuhnhenn 4th Dementia. Pours a candy amber color with a fleeting beige head. Tastes of juicy red grapes, caramel, oak, and a warming amount of alcohol. The flavor expretly seems to masque the massive ABV. Well done. Arayaga2 (931), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 2, 2009 Headless, hazy brown mixes to opacity as it’s poured. Aroma is rich and raisiny with treacley roastiness and oxidation that reminds me oF SA Triplebock. Taste is the same as aroma and rather vinous with hot alcohol and bourbony vanilla evident. High residual sweetness in this youngish bottle is (not really) balanced out by tannic and woody astringency. Interesting, but a bit hard to drink, and could probably benefit from a few years of aging. $18/750ml Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Nov 2, 2009 dark brown with red highlights.small light brown head.aroma is made up of molasses, oak, vanilla, and bourbon.flavor is roots, caramel malts, beets, and alcohol. faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Nov 2, 2009 Botella, rating no. 6000. Pours a deep dark brown colour with a medium beige head. Quite sweet, dark fruity (mainly prunes), vinious caramel aroma with a little chocolate touch. Nice smooth mouthfeel, bit sticky. The flavour is quite sweet with lots of dark fruits, wood, roastish caramel, some bourbon and a bitter sweet vinious dark fruity long lasting finish. Would be nice to taste another bottle of this in a few years’ time. Pinball (2678), Allerød, Denmark Nov 1, 2009 75cl bottle shared wih faroeviking.

madsberg (4868), Søborg, Denmark Oct 31, 2009 Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Unclear. No head to talk about. Aroma of prunes, dades, spice, sweetness and berries. Sweetness, prunes and spice in the flavour. Has some alcohol, vanilla, wood and then some as well. quite full bodied. Ends on a sweetish and fruity note. Quite pleasant, and hide the high alcohol very well. Nice one, which make me quite dizzy on a saturday night. Niiiiiiiiiiccce. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 29, 2009 750mL, bottle no. 2648. Clear ruby with a small beige head, low retention. Aroma of figs, cherries, brown sugar and alcohol. As it warms a bit there seems to be . Flavor is a little bit better with some added toffee, a little tobacco. More bitterness than I’d expect for the beer and style, and it doesn’t blend well. Bitterness peaked @ a 4-5 with some alcohol. Scant carbonation with a syrupy body. Dunno why it’s rated as well as it is. Miver (547), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2009 Bottle shared with Axilla at Union Jacks. Poured hazy brown in color with a small tan head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma is hot. notes of bourbon, vanilla, dark fruits. Taste is complex with dark fruits, chocolate, alcohol, oak with a great body. Not a huge fan of bourbon, but very much enjoyed this one.
