| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 22, 2010 Pours a very hazy ruddy color with no head. Rich aromas of dark fruit and maybe bourbon/vanilla. Very full bodied with mildly sparkling carbonation. Flavor is dark fruit, blending into vanilla, oak and arguably bourbon. Although it is somewhat sweet, the astringency pretty well balances that out. It is an incredibly drinkable ale, and there was no heat until it hit the tum. eaglefan538 (2428), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2010 Updated: Jan 30, 2010Bottle enjoyed at the NSSRQSOSLT, 1/10! Thanks to Wayne for bringing this one? The pour was brown in color, decent sized head even though the bottle had been opened for about an hour before drinking? The aroma was excellent, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, dark fruits (rum soaked raisins?), some lighter fruity esters, oak not that strong. The flavor was all of the aroma, oak comes through with vanilla notes and some alcohol. Mouthfeel was full, balanced carbonation, really quite nice. Had this after the Bourbon Aged version, and this was far superior! A nice brew. jeremytoni (1214), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 8, 2010 From a bottle #2155 poured brown with no head. Think this one went bad in the bottle. Aroma of the barrels aged in but an almost vinegar finish to it.
