I think this is the beer that knocked DaSilky out for 5 hours at the Quad tasting, especially after reading his rating! It did go a bit too sweet with toffee and caramel, in addition to some spice notes. Creamy smooth. I’m holding a few bottles as I’m sure they will mellow and age nicely.

Lots of sweet malt and fruit in this one. Pour is a hazy brown color with thin tan head. Caramel, sweet candy sugar, plum, syrup, and brown sugar. It’s really too one sided to me.

Bottle. what a seriously ugly beer. The color was just a putrid brown mud. The head was a mess of large bubbles, looking like the slime that washes up upon the shore of a vigorous ocean. The nose was strong..significantly yeasty with an apple-like essence behind it. Some subtle cider and spicing lay across it as well. Eck. Cloyingly syrupy mouth, almost non-existent carbination. the flavors were predominately apple-like with a plasticy bitter consistency that starts me wondering whether the rest of this beer is going down the drain...or at least, in my case, all over the dishes that are overflowing the sink...thing is, will i ever get those dishes clean if i pour this syrupy concoction on them...who knows. There’s also a flaming heat that lingers in the throat and stomach. What is that bitterness doing in a quad? What is that plasticy bitterness doing in any beer. This brewery never ceases to amaze me with their utter lack of craftmanship. People liking these beers have serious palate deficiencies. Wake up.

750mL bottle tried at at Woodshop Quad. Can’t help but wonder if this will be another stone vertical epic like series, with the next years beer being two-turtle doves. Amber color. Buttery oakiness. Lots of melanoidins, which I used to be insanely in love with, but not I just like a lot.

Draft at Stone Bistro. Poured a syrupy looking darker amber. Very vibrant. Sweet malt and brown sugar nose. Flavors are brown sugar and some roasted pear flavors. Very pleasant and different beer.

bottle from pizza port’s bottle shop. Very small head. Too sweet for my liking. I’d sit on this one for 12+ months to let it mellow.

Aroma of sticky toffee and caramel, maybe some sweet tree fruit - pear or apple? Appearance is a dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. Flavor of rich malt, sweet Christmas spice, and burnt toast. Some faint alcohol presence. Very smooth and sweet on the palate. Very drinkable, a very hidden 11% beer!
