| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Bottle: Stunning amber pour with a finger of creamy beige head. Sweet aroma with hints of Belgian spices. Not overly intense, yet still rich. Tastes rich and again sweet with light Belgian spices. Hints of bananas, cloves, and yeast. A deep, surrounding sweet maltiness rounds out the flavor. Thick mouthfull. Quite enjoyable. golubj (1286), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Bottle. Ruby light brown pour with a good amount of beige head. More head than from any other beer I have had from the Bruery. Aroma is sweet dark fruit, cherries and dates. Flavor is nice; very similar to aroma, mostly sweet but not overly sweet. Dates and slightly weird fruit in the finish. ratman197 (3191), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2009 750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, cherries, vanilla, light spice and a hint of oak. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Flavors of toffee, cherry, fig, light vanilla and light spice with a smooth warming lingering lightly sweet finish. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Pours turbid ruby brownish with 1-finger, creamy, well retained off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, some earthy notes, figgy fruit, merlot. Tastes fruity, with cherry and berry, some brown sugar, hops, but primarily a fruity malt bomb with a definite prop to Durhambeer for his yam note. I never noticed yams in nose or tongue before, but this beer has them. The complexity is lacking, and the balance is off. but the fruit keeps hitting you along with the malt and backup hops. Well hidden alcohol, but something is amiss here. durhambeer (1203), Durham, USA

I thought those were supposed to only be in the Autumn Maple. Taste also of cherry skins. Solid, but not great. BeerandBlues2 (3203), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2009 Draught at Boulder Strong Ale Festival. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, bread, straw), light hops (flowers), heavy yeast (dough, earth) with notes of pear and honey. Full bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

Very full-bodied. Sweet but it mellows out beautifully. Kicked ass. TURDFERGUSON (1601), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
