750mL bottle tried at at Woodshop Quad. Can’t help but wonder if this will be another stone vertical epic like series, with the next years beer being two-turtle doves. Amber color. Buttery oakiness. Lots of melanoidins, which I used to be insanely in love with, but not I just like a lot.

Bottle. Poured a deep amber with a thin beige head. The aroma is strong caramel malt, pear, and sherry notes. Full-bodied with tongue prickling alcohol. I have read some of the reviews and am so surprised I don’t see tons of reference to pear. the flavor is like biting into a fresh, boozed pear. Notes of yeast and mild acetone are also present. Somewhat sweet finish with lots of warming alcohol.

Draft at Stone Bistro. Poured a syrupy looking darker amber. Very vibrant. Sweet malt and brown sugar nose. Flavors are brown sugar and some roasted pear flavors. Very pleasant and different beer.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours a very deep ruby color. Very little head. Rich, slightly spiced dark fruit aroma. Somewhat sweet and yeasty. Maybe a hint of alcohol as well. Very rich roasty flavor with some sweet fruitness. Some grain and yeast. A little alcohol in the finish as well. Pretty tasty.

Poured a hazy chestnut color with a beige head. Mild brown sugar and raisin aroma. Lightly sweet. The malty flavor was of caramel and esters. Yeasty sweet finish. Silky mouthfeel with a medium-full body. Nice warming sensation.

Bottled. A hazy red beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of malt, over ripe fruits, and alcohol, as well as medium notes of caramel, the alcohol leaves a burn on the tongue and a slight burn in the throat.
