Deep black in color with rich tan head... Aroma of smoked malts, intense spice notes, like sniffing autumn... Flavor is sweet lactose initially that gives way to smoked cedar, burnt roasted malts with notes of pumpkin and spices... Smoke is a little much, but definitely enjoyable... Solid per usual from the Bruery ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A: Dark Opaque Hue, Passes No Light, Light Brown Head, Good Lacing S: Strong Cedar, Smoke, Pumpkin T: Smoked Cedar, Sweet Potatoes, Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, Mild Lactose M: Decent Carbonation, Medium To Full Bodied, Mildly Bitter, Somewhat Watery Overall, this beer retains a lot of the cedar flavor and smokiness but it seems like there is too much going on at one time and almost cancels each thing out, way too complex.

Tap at the brewpub - should this really be retired if I just bought it today? Very dark thick looking pour with a light brown head. Pumpkin, ginger, lactose, and some spices going on here. This is yummy.

Bottle @ Christers. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, strongly spiced, cedar, cinnamon. Flavor is roasted malts, some dark chocolate, dark fruits, cinnamon and other spices, cedar. Medium body, highly overcarbonated. Pretty nice beer, but to spicy and the carbonation is to much. 030713

Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, cedar and rather spicy - Christmas spices. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. Why the hell did they have to add all those spices? 030713

A lot of familiar pumpkin pie spices with some sweetness. I got a little cedar in there. Very different beer.
