COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Provisions Series: Cuádruple - If the monks of Belgium had access to the agave plants of Central America, this is the beer they would have brewed. We used heaping amounts of dark agave nectar in place of the typical sugars in our version of the classic Belgian Quadruple.

In short: A surprisingly nice fruity Abt with a mild red fruity tartness. Excellent.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed when 1.5 year of age. Bottle sent to me by jbtice0315, thanks Jesse.
The look: Cloudy burgundy body topped by a small beige head.
In long: Nose is nicely fruity and somewhat toasted. Taste has a very nice fruity complexity, raisins, red and dark berries, maraschino cherries, tart cherries, luscious caramel, nice Belgian yeast. Pleasant mouthfeel with a lively carbonation. This was a surprising offering from Bruery, mostly spot-on for the style, even the mouthfeel was pretty nice. I thought this beer was one of the few good American take of the Abbey Quad style I’ve had. A textbook example with a little extra of tart cherries. Considering how many American breweries screw-up this style I would have expected a better score from this fine beer. My 750ml went down all too easy. A pleasant surprise here. As with most special Bruery beers it was a bit expensive, and all those sleepless nights I’ve spent drinking expensive beers are starting to show, however I may look older than my age but I do have the credit score of a much younger person.

Cloudy dark brown beer, good pale tan head that persists. Lactose creamy nose. Airy, frothy and semi dry palate. Lactose sweetness. Bitter sweet coca cola and dark fruits. Dry finish. An okay quad, could do with more complexity.

9 nov 2012, bottle. Light ruby/brim, clear. Nose reminds me of mincemeat, grape jelly, soft licorice, fresh cut tobacco, and dark bread. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Gorgeous! Sweet meat, raisin bread, licorice, tobacco, milk chocolate. Amazing! Reminds me of a sweet, unhopped barley wine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis, courtesy of daknole, I believe. Pours a cloudy, light brown head with a cream colored head. Somewhat oxidized, cardboard, caramel, bready, fig, grape aroma. Pretty strong, tangy candy sugar, plum, dark grape, a touch woody, honey flavor. Past its prime and I expect it was a pretty good Quad but nothing too special.

Bottle shared by drabmuh. Thanks Matt! The beer is dark brown, with a small, off white head and some random lacing left on the glass. The aroma brings malt, bread, fruit, sugar, honey. Interesting...The flavor brings a unique fruitiness (must be agave), that although intriguing, would certainly become cloying given time. That said, I am enjoying my small portion of the bottle just fine. Relatively thin bodied with plenty of carbonation (perhaps a bit too much). I see this beer as described by The Bruery - a unique beer that unites two different cultures on opposite sides of the world, rather than rating it vs. the world class traditional Belgian quads, like Westvleteren 12, Rochefort 10, Chimay Blue, etc. A fun brew, I would have this again. I’ve been sitting on this bottle for a while, today seems like a good day to open it. Pours a deep ruby brown with a huge beige head that slowly dissipates and laces lots of the glass. Smells of tropical fruit up front with caramel and burnt sugars rounding out a relatively malty nose. There’s some dark dried fruit as well as a touch of alcohol in the nose as well. The flavor is odd at first. Up front my tongue gets pricked with a fruity tartness, but that disappears almost instantly as an onslaught of sugary malt takes over. Brown sugar, molasses, treacle, caramel, raisins, prunes, plums, dark cherries all vie for attention. Long lingering melanoid type burnt sugar with a hint of ethanol at the end of every sip. Medium to thick body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet burnt sugary mouthfeel. If you told me there was agave in the I still wouldn’t have found it unless that is what lends the tropical fruit to the brew. Nice quad, a little different but well made, very tasty.
